Awesome Map Thread

I did a double-take on the United Kingdom map because most of Ireland (the island) is omitted.

Is that okeefenokee west of Jacksonville? Didn’t realize it covered so much area.

Why is just east of the Mississippi habitable but apparently not on the west side through LA, AR, MO?

Thanks for the nugget. Above or below ground tests?

Hattiesburg (aka Salmon site) saw two underground tests, known as Salmon (1964) and Sterling (1966). Both were in the Tatum salt dome. The second (Sterling) was very small (380 tons yield) device suspended in the cavity created by the first. Both were part of US program for remote detection of nuclear weapons tests.

The site is now under control of the State of Mississippi.

They would be much more interesting without the proper nouns especially names of cities and counties or related terms like languages.

This warm trend has resulted in quite a few of the perennial flowers and trees blooming. Hopefully we don't have a cold snap to kill them off, but help us all if they start producing pollen non-stop for the next 6 weeks.
