Wake Forest Football Recruiting

The plan should be get up by 28 points in the first half against VMI, then let Kern play several quarters and throw 7-10 passes and actually run the offense.

Maybe Liberty game as well, but Liberty is pretty good, and we may need Hartman the entire game. Perhaps give Kern a series or something in that game.

He looked poised in the 2 games I saw him this year.

Also hoping that there is a spring game this year to give the backups some reps. With the momentum from this past season, a so-far cold/wet winter plus excitement back around the bb program, a nice spring day could bring a huge turnout of folks ready for some tailgating and football.

On3 just released their final recruiting rankings for the 2022 class.

https://www.on3.com/db/rankings/player/football/2022/

Wesley Grimes is the #35 player in the country, #4 WR and #2 player in NC

Demond Claiborne is the #104 player in the country, #4 RB and #1 player in VA

Wow. #35 player in the country is 5 star territory. Never remember WF signing any players rated as high as either Grimes or Claiborne.

I'm not familiar with On3. Looks like last year was their first year doing rankings. Caleb Williams was their #1, so that's a plus for them.

On3 is a new site started by the same guy who started Rivals and 247. He took a few top national guys from 247 when he started it. As of now they only have a few team sites so it's not totally fleshed out yet, but they are adding a bunch of features the other sites don't have such as NIL value and commitment predictor based on an algorithm(probably similar to the Northwestern thing Wake uses). His thing appears to be starting recruiting websites, building them up, adding some newer and better features to improve on the last one, selling out to legacy media then waiting out the non-compete and starting a new one which seems to be going quite well for him

Gotcha. Yeah that's a good model because legacy media is going to screw them up and the non-compete probably ends just about the time fans start looking for something new.

Wake with more offers out for 23. Tall O-lineman (offensive tackle?) from Connecticut who is a NC State legacy. WR (probably slot?) from GA.

Good size. Describes himself as a LS. We're in good shape with Zuhr, but he could see the field later in his career if he sticks with him.

This Jadyn Davis offer seems interesting with all the Wake connections he has

Is WR an area of need? Get it that Roberson is leaving, but we have several good ones on the roster.

Well that's a big offer for 2024. Will we offer a big time QB for 2023?

we offered 4* cameron edge from delaware per twitter but he is crystal balled for maryland

He's currently in Smyrna, DE HS, but his first two years in HS were at DeMatha HS, Hyattsville, MD. That HS is about as close to U of MD as any, about 10 min from U of MD. Interesting that he moved to Smyrna, DE from there. Definitely some steps down in competition.

The U bought billboards featuring local recruits. Great move by Cristobal. Here are tweets from a proud mom.

I'd love to see Clawson do something like this for our recruits where they live.
