2017 College Football Coaching Carousel

They should either give Fisher a raise or fire him.

It would cost us almost 50 million to fire him however, he can leave and only owe us balance of assistants we dont retain (ie. 7mil). It's safe to say our law school sucks too. #worstcontractever

Welcome back, stoneville. Don't recall seeing you post in awhile.

I was joking about the firing part (kind of). But yeah, not having a buyout seems short sighted, especially since he's shopping himself.

Gundy has been at Okie State forever. You'd think that he would jump to something better than Tennessee if he were ever to leave his alma mater.

Not sure if the rumored $8.4 is accurate or not but I'm sure he's never been offered that before and probably won't ever again. It's a school with a ton of resources that is desperate and willing to overpay. He's not worth $8.4, except to Tennessee right now.

I'd imagine Doeren's about to get the contract extension he and Yow have been going back and forth on all season.

Think that’s a good bet. Can’t see him actually leaving for the Tenn. job.

From Fordham HC to the SEC in 3 seasons.

Dude is an offensive wizard. Totally turned around the Penn State offense in one year, and Fordham went from 1-10 to an unstoppable offensive force when he was there. Love the hire except for the fact that he has never coached farther South than G'town. Will need to find assistants that can work the HS connections in MS, LA, FL and GA. Will be good to finally have an SEC coach with a 21st Century offense.

Curious what this means for Josh Gattis. Likely nothing but he'd be an asset recruiting down there but I doubt he'd leave unless he got the OC spot. At PSU, Franklin hired an experienced OC before and would likely do so again.

When Jimbo leaves, who does FSU target? Stoops at KY? Les Miles?

(Or is Miles going to sit out 1 more year, let Harbaugh go 0-3 again in 2018 vs MSU/PSU/OSU, then take over when Harbaugh inevitaby bolts to the NFL?)

Actually Chip Kelly was the NH OC then Oregon OC then Oregon HC within 3 or 4 years.

It's great to see young coaches make these leaps. Kelly was 46 when he became Oregon HS. Moorhead is 44.

Willie Taggart was the Stanford RB coach 9 seasons ago. Now he'll either be in his 4th FBS job at FSU or getting his second big contract at Oregon. He's 41.
