Official Election Month Thread: COUP falls short, nothing to see here

The lesson Dems should learn is that the Pubs are going to call you socialists no matter who you run so you may as well tun someone who stands for something. Our two leftmost representatives in Congress, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib each got record turnout in their respective districts and won MN and MI and more broadly the election for Biden. They run unabashedly on Green New Deal and Medicare for All in swing states. They get out the vote better than nearly any other candidates and fundraise incredibly well too.

maybe you're saying he GAINED 3248, which means: 6162-3248 = 2914 split between both of them. That's 1457 each; plus biden gained 3248 = 4705 for him. 4705/6162 = 76.3%.

Okay, i got it. In the PA scenario, he GAINED 9080. In GA you said it, but I missed it due to my having puzzled over PA for so long.

is there some kind of advanced math i'm missing here? 9080/13594 = 66.7%. 3248/6162 = 52.7%. I'm trying hard to think of what alternative ways i could do math here to get to your percentages.

Maybe that Biden GAINED those numbers and not just received those numbers. I didn't do the math but perhaps that is what was meant.

GAINED GAINED GAINED GAINED GAINED (said like the crazy church lady)

Ballot proposition 27 “Take a lot of money from the police budget and give it to other people, also take away their military gear and tanks and also fire a lot of the ones with records of abuse and corruption”
Rolls right off the tongue

Georgia. Big group just posted. 6162 votes. Biden gains 3248 and 76.36% of the group. Now down 9525. Take of votes since I tracked is 66.49%. A big slug of votes down in Savannah not yet counted as well.

And Perdue now has 49.9%. Had never considered the potential path to 50 in the senate was through GA.

Chatham County (Savannah) is warning that they likely will not get everything counted tonight. I'm half convinced they just want people to talk about them as much as they're talking about Atlanta.

If only the presidential election were based on votes from two congressional districts.

It may not be as catchy as "defund the police" but "reallocate some portions of police funding to social workers and specially trained mental health professionals" is probably a better broad policy position that could play well with the majority of Democrats.

Make the Police Great Again!

unfortunately, I believe that Bernie loses

calling someone a socialist is whatever, but I think with Bernie it actually sticks among some voters that may go either way

nobody is buying Biden as a socialist that wasn't voting for Trump already

I don't know. Black Lives Matter seemed pretty straight forward and it enraged apparently half the country.

Trying to think of other famous leftist positions in history with names that non-supporters coincidentally found problematic and polarizing. Nope, nothing coming to mind.

Republicans have had Bernie in their sights for a while now. It's actually pretty pitiful how little they could dig up on Biden. I mean, the guy has been in politics for 100 years and their final big play is some rehashed "BUT HIS E-MAILS/LAPTOP!!!!!!!" bullshit. SAD!
