Tyler Lewis

If he was here of course he would be playing. I was referring to his expectations in Raleigh this season.

But yes, defense is always going to be a problem.

I haven't seen him play for NCSU but his game in HS seems to fit the mold of a lot of PGs who look terrible while they adjust to the college level & then break out after the freshman jitters wear off. I don't think NC State would have been too jealous of Ish Smith after his first ACC season.

Its too early to make any "told ya so" arguments on whether or not the kid is going to pan out.

Endless list of college basketball players that sucked as frosh and went on to become strong, even elite, players later in college. Have no idea if Lewis will even become ACC-level average, but I would not be comfortable labeling him before we even get to December of his freshman year.

He's tiny. He's slow. He can't play D.

He can't shoot. Michigan played 3-5' off of him daring him to shoot.

Spoke with RJ the other day and had to LOL when he said "Tyler Lewis couldn't guard a chair."

Quite true.

If Tyler Lewis played for us this board would not be so kind and gentle with him. We dodged that bullet. Probably by accident.

Actually buzz wasn't high on him at all.

I think buzz blows as a coach, but I do think he has an eye for talent. I really like this group of seven and a few of the guys appear to be more talented than their recruiting would indicate (Jones, Tree, Devin, and even CMM didn't have high major offers).

From all indications Tyler is a really good kid. He'd be a star in mid-level DII.

I was not that sold on him when he came in. He is a kid who could benefit from a redshirt year so he could grow into an ACC guard. I think we will be very happy with him his jr and sr years.

He hasn't really grown in two years. Putting on weight won't help his lateral quickness.

You are ridiculous.

Not ridiculous at all. Four or six games into his freshman year, teams already know he can't shoot and play off him. If teams know he can't hit anything past 10-15' and he's 5'10 and slow, his passing is useless.

His defense is worse than any walk-on I've seen in a while. Slow and little doesn't cut it.

He already spent an extra year in high school.
