This isn't 100% true. I know a few people who are BOT members and high rollers who REALLY want him gone. It might be true of that group in general though.

I'm personally glad Wake hasn't always listened to the loud fan base when choosing head coaches. If they had a few years ago, we would have had a Sex Offender/Child Molester as the head WFU Baseball Coach. Thank God for Coach Tom Walter.

. I also read sometime last summer that the 2012 WFU Basketball Team had the lowest GPA in the whole ACC...we were lower than Miami and FL State. I know some of our players make excellent grades...so how bad did those others have to be? That was a result of not attending classes. It tells me that most of those players last year had to transfer because there would have been no team for the first semester because of academic probation...he may have been able to put together 5 players. And there was a good possibility some of them wouldn't have been academically eligible after Christmas. Again, a lot of this was set in motion before Coach [Redacted] came. I'm not saying he should stay but it's not ALL his fault.

Ah yes, players had bad grades at one of the toughest academic schools in the conference where they have to take real classes and all of a sudden it's Dino's fault. Even if that were true, isn't it on Buzz and his staff to make sure the players go to class and study? Or was it the ghost-hand of Dino that kept the players from seeing their tutors?
 
I think that's why they insulate themselves in the elitist "class" argument.

Yeah, the word "classy" gets thrown around a lot, but if you think about its roots, it's a pretty unsavory way to talk about decorum and respect.

I agree wholeheartedly, but you can't just throw down a blanket statement that we and our AD should ignore non-alumni. If we're depending on our 50,000 +/- living alumni only then we're going to have a sad future.

That said, I don't see how anyone - Wake alum or not - can actually be Buzz In

so the non-alums who collect pay checks as a direct result of WFU are the good fans...
 
There are plenty of Wake alumni who are part of the Wellman/Bz propaganda machine and obviously the heavy hitting for #BuzzOUT has been from non-alums. You can't make such a blanket statement.
 
I don't blame employees for not taking a direct public #BuzzOut stance, but they really need to STFU about calling out other Wake fans.

to be fair, I really do like Dr. B. I think he's a great supporter of all things Wake, and he really does care for the school. There are plenty of people in the BzzOut movement who are not alumni, but just fans that care. Being an alum is not the #1 point of credibility for someone, regardless of what side of things they fall on (bzzin/bzzout). That said, I do not like that people challenge my fanaticism because I DO NOT SUPPORT LOSING. We deserve better, and 'wishing we could all just get along and support the deacs!' is the stupidest attitude one could possibly take.
