MTOW: Price Getting Pushed

I'm still confused how an unrecruited high school qb (Thompson) that was recruited as a package deal with a stud lineman brother is higher on the depth chart than two qb's that we pulled all the stops out for. Maybe Thompson is great but it says more about Sousa and, to some extent, Cameron than anything.

Good to hear! 4 QB's apparently in the mix.

To this day I still remember my HS senior year baseball coach mixing it up with me as the starting catcher and him giving some snot nose soph catcher some reps in practice- pissed me off and he never saw the field in a game and I ended up hitting .363! Showed him!:p

Wasn't Cameron hurt last spring?

Seems like Grobe does this every year. Hypes some underhyped guys as either a show of appreciation for their hard work or a kick in the ass to those below them.

Cameron was recovering from surgery last year and Sousa the before. Last summer Patrick looked like the best qb on the team at every scrimmage I attended.

He left early not sure to where though.

he might just have left early to play at another school his senior year.. he wasnt getting ant pt here so why not

meh. Is it that much more ridiculous than Riley Skinner being way better than Mauk?

The walk-on or lightly regarded recruit often beats out the HS stud. BTW, Thompson was a really good HS QB. He led his HS to the VA 5A state title, and his HS score a ridiculous number of points against a high level of HS competition. Once they get to WF, the coach has to play the kids that give the team the best chance to win, regardless of their star rating or who else offered.

No, not at all. Thompson is a big kid and an excellent athlete. I just hope that he is given a fair chance to compete for playing time. Coaches are under the gun to play the kids that have scholarships. That places walk-ons at a distinct disadvantage. Thompson will have to do more than the others in order to see substantial minutes on the field.

next year it really is a toss up for the starting spot.. i really think tanner will start this year, i dont see what would stop that unless injury or he somehow got worse.. but next year will be really interesting to see who is going to step up
