On a serious note, I really don't care one way or the other what you dudes do, but would suggest that if you want to minimize the public's opinion of you as obsessive and lunatic-y, figure out a way to raise anti-Wellman money and donate it to a charitable cause. Like, sell "Fire Wellman" buttons to tailgaters in the parking lot, then make a big deal about donating that money to feed the homeless or some such benevolent shit. That way your frustration would be viewed favorably and have a positive outcome, as opposed to flying a banner which just leads most people to be like, "holy shit, this crazy idiot just keeps wasting money for nothing." But, again, feel free to do as you wish. I am entertained.
For what it's worth, Say Hey's suggestion about a publicized charitable donation is a very, very good one. Hell, we could give it to a local pop warner league if we want to keep it sports-related. But seeing how the local media responded to the billboard makes me think that we'd be better off with positive spin to help legitimize things.
Sell some #BuzzOut koozies/stickers/whatever at football games for $2 and give the proceeds to charity.
I preface this by saying that I can't stand what is happening to our athletic program right now and understand and agree with much of the anger about our program; but flying a banner like this over a football game takes away from the moment of the guys on the field. They only get to play 6 or 7 games at their home stadium all year. They bust their ass in practice, run out on the field and there is a plane flying around saying to fire the athletic director (which says indirectly to the players: sorry but you suck and we want the athletic director fired) and fire the basketball coach (saying to the players: sorry but really don't care about you and would rather focus on flying banners around about the basketball program). There are other ways to accomplish the same objective. The billboards and all are one thing, but this is starting to feel like the guy that yells "Mashed Potatoes" after a PGA golfer swings primarily so he can be heard but not seen on television, not because he has any idea where the ball is actually going.

Finally somebody with some decency. This is the last year of football that 99% of these boys have left, and this season is pretty much their lifes work to this point. No one should take that away from them for some childish stunt.

We are only returning 1% of football players next year? Holy shit, that is like a Bz wet dream scenario of inexperience and youth.

I don't see the end game with the aerial banner.
We got money together for ads during the ACC Tournament (which was perfect) and we have money for two bilboards, one of which isn't even up yet. The message has been sent loud and clear. At some point it just looks like we have a bunch of people that want to see a blurb on ESPN or get interviewed by WXII. Board of trustees, local and national media, Hatch, etc., have all received the message. If at the end of next season we feel like we need to do more because Wellman still wants to keep him around, then let's start again. But at this point, Buzz's earliest removal is at the end of the 2013-2014 season. A protest now does nothing except fuel a few egos.
Nothing to do with being a LOWFer. And I don't object to this on the grounds that we need to support football players. I just don't see the logic.
