If true, that still leaves a crook in charge of the AD finances. So what's your point?

Someone should tell Yusef Islam that Hatch, Flow, Wellman and Buzzdick had party with a bonfire where they burned a bunch of Korans. That could take care of the problem. And take some heat off of Salmon Rushdie.

Casstevens needs to keep looking over his shoulder because the word on the street is, another SEC investigation of some of his antics, may be underway.
 
Oh, please let the SEC crack down on him while he is employed in Premier Wellman's culture regime. Please, please, please!

My point is I have a hard time believing that, if one person is running / ruining everything in the athletic department, it's someone other than the person who's actually in charge of that department. My hunch is that Casstevens ran the vendor selection process, which had a negative result for some closely connected members of the Wake community whose friends are now trying to tie everything else wrong with the Wake athletic department to him.

I don't know why you would hire someone with a SEC record in that capacity. All for second chances, but not in an executive position.

Wish I could get my Biz School advisor to give me some scoop on what the hell is going on w/r/t Casstevens. I remember when I was having a hard time finding work in the summer of '96, he actually tried to put me in touch with Randy C. for an interview. In hindsight, I'm glad that never panned out! Thank you PepsiCo!! :) If even half of what Legaldeac is saying is true, this is A LOT worse than I could have ever imagined. Please let this winter be the one in which MSD finally hits rock bottom and Wellman, Casstevens and Cronies get implicated in some sort of devastating NCAA scandal.

Actually Wellman knew from Casstevens previous employment history that he would have no problems following instructions. Casstevens has proved that he will follow instructions regardless of any ethical or legal obstructions that might intimidate someone burdened with too much integrity. The new Wake culture is obviously not big on integrity.

Wellman wants "yes men" who he has leverage over. Read: "I gave you a chance when no one else would, you owe me." It's brilliant in a sense and Ronald is really digging in. Hatch would have to dismantle the entire AD to get rid of Ron at this stage and he doesn't care enough to do so. Very few schools make wholesale changes in revenue sports and the AD at once; especially not WFU.
