Adopting Duke or some Rock Chalk

Been thinking about adopting a new team this hoops season, and why not Duke? Here are some reasons:


1. Donald Ross and PhDeac hold degrees from UNJ- Durham

2. Duke is not UNC

3. My in laws are big Duke fans.

4. Methodist, like me.

5. I saw them win the 1991 national championship in Indy

6. Coach K played for Bobby Knight who later coached at Indiana. I am from Indiana.

7. No [Redacted] or Wellman

KANSAS. Wellman hates their "culture," they're always really good, classy fans, Self owns Roy and the Tar Holes and they have Wiggins
 
I used to like you, BSD. Dick has become more insipid than UNC over the past 2 decades. If you're looking for another couple of interesting ACC teams to root for, try UVA and the Cuse. Not top-5, but fundamentally sound and top-25.
 
6. is the deal breaker. Because he played for Bobby Knight means that BKFan must support which means I cannot approve.
 
I like Coach K less and less as the years go by. He did build something from nothing and for that I tip my cap to him. But he has become a whiny little bastard who complains to the refs every trip up the floor. Whenever a team plays at Cameron, they have to beat both Duke and the refs. It's sickening.
I pick VCU as the bandwagon to jump on.
 
I thought this thread was going to be about adopting Duke to win the Coastal and/or ACCCG in football. I am fully behind hoping they win the Coastal (but not the ACCCG for obvious Nationsl Championship game reasons). Never in basketball. Never.

I really would like to know how many neg reps this post has gotten.
 
Hate 'em both, but give me Carolina over Duke any day.
 
Kansas, VCU, and Wichita State are the squads I'm repping this year. Hopefully one makes a Final 4 run.
