Adopting Duke or some Rock Chalk

I like Coach K less and less as the years go by. He did build something from nothing and for that I tip my cap to him. But he has become a whiny little bastard who complains to the refs every trip up the floor. Whenever a team plays at Cameron, they have to beat both Duke and the refs. It's sickening.
I pick VCU as the bandwagon to jump on.

Duke was a pretty strong program before Coach K. However Coach K did transform Duke into the most recognizable college basketball program on the planet.

I always find it interesting to observe the Duke - UNC reactions. Younger folks whose memory only encompasses the last twenty years or so frequently dislike Duke more than UNC. Those with a longer perspective and greater life experiences almost always loathe the team from Whiskey Hill more than any other.

Teach a young child to hate Carolina.
ABC, baby!

I know the doofi and I are on your side here. I almost get as much enjoyment out of watching them lose as I do Wake win. Life of a hater.

When I lived in NC, I couldn't stomach looking at that fucking Powder blue color, and Duke was a close 2nd in hatred....when I moved to Philly, this reversed. Stop anyone on the street wearing duke clothes and ask the most basic question, and they have no idea. But they will say 'Coach K is the greatest, and so is Christian Laettner'. I hate duke, I hate this thread, and I hate anyone who is a wake fan even joking about 'adopting' them. BAN

It is a sorry ass state of affairs when the athletic program you loved is in such disarray because of INCOMPETENT LEADERSHIP! Sad that this discussion of adopting another program, whoever it may be, even has to be discussed. Just shows how damn low the program has fallen...

I have more than enough hate in my heart for all the blue teams. One of these days, that sinkhole I root for twice a year is going to come through and engulf the smith center or cameron indoor.

WTH??? How did I get dragged into this crap!

But I am rooting for UNCG & Winthrop this year!

I've been rooting for a fire for years.

PH is no true Dukie. Back in grad school, when I would end up with a Dook hat on for a game, he would curse me all night.

I got you again for good measure.

Nice. Full disclosure, since we're judging a decision that 18-year-old me almost made 23 years ago, here's something 18-year-old me actually did:

I had a poster on my bedroom wall of the UVa Blitz Brothers, Ricky Stokes and Othell Wilson. That was a sweet poster.
