Grobe Stepping Down - Press Conference @4:15

I assume Wellman said that Lobo would not be returning, and Grobe said if you make me fire my staff I prefer to resign.

Grobe could get a sweet DC gig. Doubtful anyone would give him a HC job

I'm sure a school just establishing a program would hire him as a head coach. Or he could go the TOB / Dennis Erickson route.
 
i think he could get a job SOMEWHERE as a DC, although i'm not his agent so i don't care where.

Grobe coming off as all class per usual.

Being honest saying everyone expected better. He did however say that "the coach and players squeezed out about as much as we could from this season." I kind of disagree with that (I vehemently disagree with that) But he's not going to throw anybody under the bus obviously.
 
Grobe's done. I'll be shocked if he takes any kind of coaching job again- at least anything above high school.
 
If there's new energy and a new resolve that can push the program forward there's nobody who wants that more than Grobe.
 
This is really hard to watch. I really like Grobe as a person. He is old school, handshake honest.
 
This press conference is not good for us. Reading between the lines, he's kinda saying that winning at Wake is just too hard and he got tired of fighting the good fight. Hiring the right guy to take over this program is going to be hard. What Jim Grobe is saying now will only make it harder if any potential replacements listen (or more likely, talk to him).
