ACA Running Thread

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-12-06/obamacare-small-business-delay-kept-from-public-for-weeks.html

"The decision to delay the Obamacare health exchange for small businesses was withheld from the public for at least six weeks, according to internal e-mails released by a congressional committee investigating the rollout.
CGI Group Inc., responsible for getting the insurance shopping site for small business open Oct. 1, told the Obama administration in August the marketplace wouldn’t be completely ready until at least Nov. 15, according to documents released today by Republicans on the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
The administration was still saying publicly as late as Sept. 26 that the Small Business Health Options Program was on schedule. A news release that day by the Department of Health and Human Services said the SHOP exchange would open Oct. 1..."

This is becoming more ridiculous each day:

http://www.startribune.com/lifestyle/health/234891661.html

"Federal health officials, after encouraging alternate sign-up methods amid the fumbled rollout of their online insurance website, began quietly urging counselors around the country this week to stop using paper applications to enroll people in health insurance because of concerns those applications would not be processed in time.

Interviews with enrollment counselors, insurance brokers and a government official who works with navigators in Illinois reveal the latest change in direction by the Obama administration, which had been encouraging paper applications and other means because of all the problems with the federal website. Consumers must sign up for insurance under the federal health overhaul by Dec. 23 in order for coverage to start in January."

Le sigh. It's just so pathetic how much spin rules over doing the practical in DC.

You were much cooler when you were giving out insider info. on the BB program on TOS. ;)

Only a lazy fool says things like LK said. From the beginning I said there would be problems. Some caused by Obama's people. Some caused by the insane Roberts ruling that allowed states to opt out. Some were inevitable.

Like usual LK takes the easy, non-thinking way out.

It's a shame the crazies on the right wouldn't embrace a Huntsman/Rendell Commission to look for fixes.

Firehouses aren't companies. Paid firefighters work for the local government of the county or city as a whole, and treating each house as a separate entity is ridiculous if true.

I am a volunteer firefighter, and no volunteer firefighter "works" over 30 hours a week unless they want to and have no life.
