"@DetroitLionsNFL: Schwartz: “Matt’s a very mechanically-sound quarterback.” #BelleTireTuesdayPresser"

God I hate you so much, Jim.

It beats being a Cowboy fan...*sigh* The latest from Jerry world below. Its funny how 31 other owners don't share this philosophy.

When Jerry Jones looks in the mirror, he sees a perfectly capable general manager. Jones said hiring a general manager would be like duplicating work. "It's often been said, well why don't I get someone to be the GM, why don't I get someone to pick the players?" he said. "Well, who in the world do you think that person, when they walk through the door and say we want to get this player and we want to pay this player, what in the world do you think I'm going to do? I'm going to sit down, and I'm going to go through it, and I'm going to say, 'Show me the player. Show me everything about the player. Before I write the check. Show me the player, and let me see everything about the player.' Well, rather than that have happen, I get involved and know everything there is to know about the players."

Keep up the good work, Mr Jones!

I wonder how many Cowboy fans would spontaneous combust or commit suicide if they went 0-16.

Depends how the Lakers and Red Wings are doing that year.

Duke, Yankees.

I have nothing inherently against Dallas but I enjoy their misery. The constant promotion of that team as "America's team" is such an utter load of bullshit that when coupled with Jerry the Clown's megalomania and visceral need to be in the news and self-promote, anything that causes them misery is a justified price to pay.

In the 47 years of the Super Bowl era the Detroit Lions have 3 less playoff wins than Mark Sanchez.

In what universe does being a Lions fan beat being a Cowboys fan?

Oh right, in the Cowboys fan universe.

To start, the Cowboys and Lions are both 7-7 this year.

But basically pick a stretch, any stretch of history, and the Cowboys have been better than the Lions. The Cowboys were bad from 1960-65 when they were first a team. Since 1966, they've won their division 21 times (to the Lions 3). During that time, they went 430-352-2 (.550) to the Lions 323-402-11 (.445).

In fact, the only decade the Lions had a better win percentage than the Cowboys was the 1960s (.520 vs .510).

During that entire stretch, the Lions and Cowboys faced each other in the playoffs once, and the teams split. The Cowboys have 5 Super Bowls to the Lions 0. The Cowboys have 31 playoff appearances. The Lions have 10.

Seriously, shut the fuck up already, Cowboys fans. Jerry Jones is an idiot. There are loads of them in management positions in every sport. You aren't unique or long suffering or whatever the fuck.

Wouldn't bandwagons fans have deserted the Cowboys by now? It's been nearly 20 years since the last Super Bowl...

The Cowboys are tied for most Super Bowl appearances, most playoff wins, and T-second most Super Bowl wins. They have the longest stretch of winning seasons of any franchise in the NFL, of 20 years from '66-'85. They have the third highest winning percentage in the league.

Most importantly, every single season the Cowboys have one thing that a Detroit Lions fan has never even imagined. Hope.

Yeah, but most of them joined the bandwagon in the mid-90s and were ridiculed for their bandwagon. So now they can't leave because it would admit their bandwagon nature to everyone who critcized them for it. So are they actually still bandwagon fans at this point? Probably not, but they can't escape their past. So they have the double whammy of being considered bandwagon fans by everyone else because of their past decisions and nonetheless being stuck with a joke of a team for 15 or so years. Couldn't happen to a more deserving group of assholes.

Do people still say that? I know waaay more bandwagon Steelers and Patriots fans.

There's nothing more annoying than a chick that thinks Tom Brady is hot, so she's the biggest Patriots fan, like evar.
