The rumor on the street is that a Wake Forest basketball legend will be named as the new Director of Basketball Operations. Hopefully his crossover from player to coach will be successful.

I see what you did there :p

I, for one, welcome our Phil Medlin overlords.

segway to a new era, Chill, Rusty, need to bring Scooter back somehow and I would be completed.

Which one, scooter or segway?

I can see him at the beginning of crunch time going over to Rusty and Bzzz and saying, "Give me the damn clipboard at the beginning of every timeout!"

Seriously though, it seems like a position that would be below Childress, unless he's doing it as a labor of love. Assuming he wasn't horrible at managing his money, he's probably got a nice nest egg from being a star overseas, but still, from what I can tell it's a job with a low earnings/effort ratio.

Is this a legit rumor, or more BS (e.g., DemonDKE is dead)?

Its a nice starting point if he would like to get into coaching I would think. Not a ton of responsibility and it gets him involved and learning the ropes. I'd love to get him into an assistants position eventually, then send him to everyone who is teetering between UNC and WFU with a video in hand.
