Yeah, but you're just looking at stats. We're a god awful road team. I'd be astonished if we picked up more than 1 more road win. I look at it this way. GT & BC are very probable Ws. ND & Clemson are 50/50 - neither are that talented but both are well coached and actually play defense (I'm not impressed with Brownell as a recruiter, but he seems to be fundamentally sound). At Miami is winnable because of their lack of talent and experience. The rest of the road games I'd be astonished if we won 1. Ain't no way State and UNC lose to us at home after we beat them in Winston (they won't come out flat), and while MD and FSU aren't anything to write home about, they won't lose on their courts. No reason to even mention Dick and Syracuse. So I'd set the O/U at 4.

ND sucks on defense and we only play FSU at home, but I agree with everything else you said.

ND is absolutely terrible on defense and without Grant has been even worse. We only play FSU at home, the reason the percentage is so low is because they're 21st in KenPom. Hamilton, Dixon, and Brownell have to be the three candidates for COY at this point - I guess you could throw Bennett in there if UVA finishes top two in the ACC.

Hadn't seen ND much at all this year but have been somewhat impressed with what Brey has done in the last few years. They weren't bad last year, but I get without Grant they're eminently beatable. And my bad on FSU - I had that down as a road game. Okay, I'll move the O/U to 4.5 in that case.

Numbers, I think you'd have to give COY to Dixon. FSU is middle of the pack as expected. Brownell gets the most he can out of an untalented bunch, but they're NIT at best. And UVA played like shite from late Nov to late Dec. Pitt is the only team overachieving.

As for underachieving, who do y'all think is on the hot seat? I gotta think Buzzdick, Donohue, Johnson, Gregory and maybe Turgeon in that order.

I think Wake beats ND, GT, and BC at home, loses to Duke, Clemson, and FSU at home, beats State at State and then loses to everyone else.

So I have us at 17-14 (7-11) I guess.

Well, let's see just how firm you are standing on it....and I'll even throw in a 17th win for you as a bonus.

You'd like to see me off the boards....and I'd like to see you off the boards, so here is the offer I will make to you:

If we win fewer than 18 games this year, I will post only on the Fantrax thread until October 1st, 2014. If we win 18 or more games this year, you will post only on soccer threads until October 1st, 2014.

So.....how firm are you really standing on your prediction? Do we have a deal?

I'm good with a line of 17.5 wins.

Slight change (since the Olympics are coming and I'll be in on those threads, oh! and I like talking football too...):

The loser is prohibited from talking on basketball threads or even bringing basketball up on non-basketball threads. One of us has the propensity to do that an awful lot... I don't want to say which one of us does that. It's you.

I don't think we're gonna lose four home games. We only lost three in conference last year with a worse team.

Oh, and this is regular season wins. Not using the ACCT or that crap tournament that is below the NIT.... CBT? Something like that?

Probably true. The home slate is a tough one though. Just a really good schedule we got this year. It's been exciting to watch and will be exciting to watch.

I really don't care what you "like talking about". My offer is one thread each for the loser....Fantrax for me and any one thread you wish to choose for you. Time begins when we win our 18th regular season game (for you), or when we can no longer win 18 regular season games for me.......and ends on October 1st.

Are we on or not?

Not

Besides, with the way you've been going, it is very likely you'll be confined to one thread only by the mods soon enough. You keep doing you, Buddy!

In his hypothetical we only lose three home games unless I am reason incorrectly.

I said we'd lose to Clemson at home in a toss up, lose at home to FSU and Duke, and then lose to Syracuse. We probably won't lose four games at home, but it's going to be pretty difficult to beat FSU, Syracuse, or Duke regardless of where we play them. The only real stretch is Clemson. Our expected win percentage in the three games against FSU, Syracuse, and Duke is .84 with 2.16 losses.

Plus, lets not act like we are invincible at home. We could easily have home losses to both Richmond and State.

We could lose to all four of those teams. Duke and Syracuse are likely, Florida State's length will give us a lot of problems, but the players probably know they can beat Clemson after the first matchup. Even though it's not a given, I think Wake gets that one.

Damn we're good! 35.69% of us at 15-16.

Bzz has to luck into at least one more win.

Bttt....

Is there a way to show which posters selected which option on the poll?
