I really think that either Shaka (or perhaps Marshall) is still in play.

These are facts:

Ron Wellman & Nathan Hatch have said we are aiming high. Of course this is not a guarantee, but why come out and say this? This was not an off-the-cuff remark (like the line about "Shaka would be settling" was). Wellman and Hatch are not complete idiots, they know how Danny Manning will look in that context.

Shaka Smart was approached by Wake Forest

We have not heard that Shaka turned down Wake Forest

Shaka was approached by Marquette and subsequently turned down Marquette

Wellman has said all along that this would not be a quick process
 
Davidson would be cool but I have no idea. I thought this was a wake board.

No reason for Howland to leak anything if he has no leverage. That's my point. Betwn a rock and a hard place as in out of other options he (Ben) deems worth his time. And ya, he may figure he's sittin' pretty cuz chances are, Shaka will decline.

tomorrow would be a great day to name a new coach. Before the Wake Will event and before all the Final 4 coverage possibly getting us big time PR.

On the trolling side, look who is playing in Washington, DC tomorrow versus the Wizards....The Boston Celtics. Since we are shooting high per Hatch, Hatch and Wellman interview Brad Stevens in Washington tomorrow afternoon and announce him tomorrow night at our wake Will event.
 
Where the hell is RSF? I thought he would be balls deep in this Danny Manning talk.
