Things I learned about The Wake Forest Way during this coaching search:

1) When things go awry, it's important to blame the wife of a candidate rather than acknowledge we couldn't get it done. OWG donors will especially love this.

2) Our Athletic Department is really bad at baseball analogies. (Shake = double, Manning = homerun?)

3) With enough drink and/or rationalizing, we can talk ourselves into anyone if they offer us the one thing we haven't had in a basketball coach since 2009: hope.

Fuck it, at least Manning isn't from Ohio and isn't named [name redacted]. I'm onboard.
 
Can you imagine how excited Manning has to be to get out of Oklahoma?
 
Honestly how much are we paying Manning? It can't be much and if it is anywhere near 2 million i'd be even more sick.

If your going to lowf at least do it on a budget.
 
This is truly depressing. Not sure we make the NIT next year with Manning as our coach and this current roster.

I'm not sure we make it with Wooden as our coach and K as his bench assistant.
 
There can be literally no expectations for next year. He's coming from a pretty bad conference into one of the best with a new system and a bunch of players he'll have to fit that around.

Positivity.
 
Hopefully we can take the difference between what we were reportedly willing to pay Shaka and what it will likely take to get Manning and still invest that money in the program (poach some top assistants from elsewhere, recruiting budget, etc.).
