I don't see WFU holding a press conference without RW. Not going to happen. Most likely scenario is that he informs his players, word leaks, and a couple of hours later WFU makes it official through a press release. Press conference next week, unless DM changes his mind. Assuming he hasn't already said 'no,' of course.
 
I don't think the fanbase is divided at all. It's pretty unified. I guess it's "divided" from the perspective of being one of the few who isn't unified with everyone else though.

Manning is probably going home and telling the kids he's leaving. No reason to stick around because Ron isn't here.
 
Let me get something straight here. RW left for Dallas? he's got his "last pick" on his campus to convince him to take over our basketball program (yes that same program that's FLOUNDERED in MISERY for 4 seasons) and the BOSS has a "prior engagement"? what does that say for the school's focus on the program? Or the AD's interest in the candidate? this is completely ridiculous! these facts (if true) need to be escalated. Honestly, put yourself in Danny's shoes! What would you think????????

Ron is in Dallas for the Final 4. Manning probably going regardless. Leak it, announce there, Manning goes on all the pre-game shows talking about his emergence as a college basketball coach, swings on back to Winston with fam on Tuesday next week for the formal announcement.

Have you watched the Tulsa announcement? Manning sweating through the whole thing. Delivers about a 30 second intro and then answers questions for 15 minutes. If those type of pressers aren't his thing, sit with Barkley and talk about whatever for 15 minutes and call it a day. Do a scaled down presser in Winston well after the fact when the reporters will be fewer and the news won't be breaking

Hey, Tulsa has the "home court" advantage here.....and yes, we ARE desperate! What a pathetic situation...:tard:. I can remember just a few days ago when we though more time meant it more likely that Shaka was coming. Now??? WTFK???

Well...there has been a bit of talk here about requirements for JUCO players. Wonder if there's a stellar JUCO head coach out there in the midwest, say, that is looking to add to his resume. Now that would be quite the story.....:thumbsup:

my thoughts exactly Wake 20. Probably to tell his players but who fucking knows.

I lived in Tulsa OK as a kid and ... I'd rather live in Winston
 
It's pretty amazing that in 2000 we were considered the 8th best out of 9 coaching jobs in the ACC. In 2010 we fire a coach coming off the second round of the NCAA and end up hiring a special needs case. In 2014 we're labeled the 13th best coaching job out of 15 in the ACC. We have not one, but two ex coaches shitting on us in public and we're begging a tier C coach to come here. Could it be any more obvious how badly the administration is selling this school? There is one constant during that 14 year period--Ron Wellman. We're not that bad of a job. In fact, we could be a great gig. We need someone at every level -- President down to BOT--who recognize that and can adequately express this to the general public at large. Assuming that everyone else thinks we're awesome is clearly not working.

I did see the press conference, and he didn't seem excited to be there. I don't know anything about IMG, but there was a report earlier that DM was spotted walking in to their HQ in W-S. I wonder if DM might've been there to get tips on handling himself with the press.
