Totally Unofficial 2015/16 Premier League Thread (NWT)

Loftus-Cheek was a great pull back for Baker... but he skies it over the bar from 12 yards. Should have scored to make it 2-1 Chelsea, but it's still level instead.

------------

Amos! Great save with his legs to keep it level. Chelsea on top to start the 2nd half.

So much natural talent on this pitch for both teams.

Nice shorts, Wa$$a.

Great stuff from Pearson! Did everything right until the finish.

Hard tackle on the midway line that lead to a break, beat a couple defenders to get into the box, but his left-footed shot was pretty tame and easy to save.

Shit. 2-1 Chelsea. Lewis Baker R1s it into the far post.
79th min.

Announced attendance: 13,203
not bad for a U-21 match!

4 mins of stoppage and Amos has come up for the corner kick!

....fucking awful corner -- bounced before the 1st defender. He's ready for the 1st team at MUFC.

---------

One final decent chance from United as Tyler Blackett smokes a side volley from 35 yards, but the Chelsea keeper turns it around the post. Final whistle soon after that.

Damn. Chelsea win the U-21 PL this season. Deserved winners.

Lewis Baker is a hell of a player for them.

Mirror saying that LvG has signed a 2 year deal worth 7 mil per year at United. Giggs will be his assistant manager. Bringing in his own video guy and own GK coach. Room for Scholes and Nicky Butt in the staff then.

And please, please, please bring Rene back to Old Trafford! Dream Team.

I'm not positive why I like him so much because he is an arrogant, pompous jackass (that doesn't play for my club), but I do like Jack Wilshere. This made me like him a bit more.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/arsenals-jack-wilshere-day-rang-3540505

Ex-Manchester United midfielder Scholes claimed Arsenal playmaker Wilshere had not improved since he was 17, is not a leader and that the Gunners “are a million miles away” from being a title winning team.
Wilshere, now 22, said: “It was a bit strange - out of the blue. I remember watching it. He was having a go at Arsenal and I was thinking, ‘Is he going to come for me?”
Afterwards, Wilshere sent England coach and Old Trafford icon Gary Neville a direct message on Twitter requesting his former United teammate’s number and, “He wrote back to me, ‘Just go easy on him.’”
As he prepares to help the north Londoners try to end a nine-year trophy drought by beating Hull in Saturday's FA Cup Final, Wilshere added: “We had quite a good chat. He is entitled to his opinion, I just wanted to know...
"If it had come from a less respected player, I could say, ‘What are you talking about’, but it came from Paul Scholes! So I wanted to get to the bottom of it.
"I spoke to him, he explained it a bit better and told me what he thought I should work on.
"For me, he's the best English midfielder of all time.

“For the next few days after he said that, I sat down and talked to my dad and a few of the coaches here. I just wanted to hear what he thinks,” said Wilshere
“I respect him so much and I think he can make a great coach for any young player. I am a young player and he has been there and done it, so I wanted to hear what he had to say.
“He was right, in a certain way. When I first burst onto the scene there was all this noise [about me] and then I got injured. I have had bad luck with injuries but I can’t keep saying I’ve been injured a lot.
“There comes a time when you stop being a kid and I think that’s what he’s referring to - 'He’s young, he’s got all this potential, you have to start fulfilling that potential.'
“This season, I have improved a lot, scored a few more than I have in the past and got a few more assists. That side of things...
"You can keep the ball and you can look good but it’s those stats that matter. That’s what I have to build on.”

Honingstein was tweeting rumors about Tuchel to Schalke the other day

Hated and adored.
Never ignored.

Why was the Wales derby so highly watched? Those are US NBC numbers right?

Now I understand why nobody had any good pubs to suggest for watching football. Over in England almost all of the games are on Sky Sports, which costs 45 pounds a month. Sky Sports 1 was showing City vs West Brom, Sky Sports 2 was showing Pool vs Newcastle, and Sky Sports 3 was showing some other game. Most pubs only were showing 1 or 2 of the games on the final day. Seems like most UK residents don't even pay for Sky, they just go to pubs for the games.

Hoping QPR wins promotion later this month, I'd love to see all of those London teams fighting it out next year. Although I guess there will still be the same amount of London teams since Fulham got relegated. Wonder what that means for future Deuce loans.

Oh, Carles Puyol, AKA The Spanish Gary Neville, retired from football today. A player that made the most of his limited natural abilities. And a guy that knew how to look sharp at big, fancy galas.
