BBall Recruiting Megathread - Crawford, Moore, & Collins ALL TO WAKE!

Losing Cornish doesn't bother me that much.

Why should he? He is a left-over player that was choosing between 3 schools that aren't that highly thought of right now. But he felt deserving of a press conference, so kudos to his ego.

left-over player > Rondale and Overton

Who gives a shit if he is better than Rondale or Overton? That isn't the bar we should be setting for players to lift us out of this funk. Just like Manning > [Redacted] means nothing to me. Being better than complete shit isn't an accomplishment.

I want the best players on the court as possible for Manning to work with. Sure we need players much better than Cornish, but Cornish is about as good as we can do right now to step on the court next season.

Meh. We aren't going to be very good next season and having a guy sign that is just "ok" now doesn't truly help us long term. I get that it would have been instant gratification, but a guy rated like Cornish isn't the type of player we need to get back among the best.

I can suffer through one year of shit with a couple more losses because Cornish didn't sign if we start landing the studs in the 2016 class.

I see both sides of it. But ultimately, any improvement we can make at any position, I am for. Cornish would have represented improvement over anyone else playing at that position. This may be a slow rebuild, but every brick counts *rimshot*

Getting better players on the court next year is going to help recruit players for the future.

Yes. Guys will be fighting each other to play with Jordan Cornish. We are so dicked as we didn't manage to sign somebody that none of us had heard of 3 months ago.

QUOTE=80deac;1766031]Looking like we are 3rd on Cornish list. If he signed with Tennessee, then Nebraska as a similar State school makes sense. UNLV as well. Coming from a small Catholic H.S. and saying academics are important doesn't = signing with a small private school like Wake. Vanderbilt wasn't seriously considered. I say we don't land him, at this point. This recently from 247 site:

Things are changing a bit for Jordan Cornish. The Brother Martin guard who had originally signed with Tennessee is set to visit Nebraska on May 12-13. He’ll follow that up with a newly planned trip to UNLV and plans to make a decision on May 20.

It’s gotten interesting on Cornish’s Crystal Ball page where it’s now 50-50 between Nebraska and UNLV. Boilermaker247 analyst Eric Gardner and 247Sports analyst Jerry Meyer are the two current Nebraska picks.

The Rebels just recently offered and boast a top recruiting class, but the Huskers are carrying a lot of momentum from the school’s first tournament appearance in 16 seasons. The Huskers have two scholarships left in this cycle.[/QUOTE]

Losing Travis and Moto and not picking up Shelton...going to be much worse off than we even expected. And I didn't really expect much.

So has Meh-nning accomplished anything so far other than offer everyone under the sun?

Love how we poop on a kid who could help us immensely next year -- 6' 6" swing guards who can shoot the rock are a dime a dozen!! -- after he scorns us by picking UNLV. Y'all are delusional if you think he wouldn't be an important piece to our revitalized program. Alas, you can't blame a kid for going to UNLV, where he'll have ample more time and opportunity to chase ass.

So far... this is about it.

yeah if the next 5 years are anything like these first 6 weeks [sarcasm]...

he did land what appears to be a solid replacement for a recruit who bolted. he's hosted (at least one) possible transfer that can step in and play right away. and he's been on the road with Clawson trying to rebuild some of the goodwill for the program with the alumni. can't tell if either of you are being sarcastic, but i don't know what more can be reasonably expected of the guy coming to a broken down program six weeks ago.

But isn't Wake a school Cornish hadn't really thought of until 3 months ago as well? Getting in late is usually a long shot so it sort of went as expected to me.
