BBall Recruiting Megathread - Crawford, Moore, & Collins ALL TO WAKE!

Looks like a tall, rangy wing who's biggest strength is his shot. Looks like he needs to add weight and sharpen up the handle. Not super athletic. We need shooting though for sure.

I don't think scholarships will be a problem. A lot of competition being created and after this tryout year the guys not getting minutes will leave. There are certainly plenty of candidates.

That's what talent evaluation is for. A coach shouldn't have to tryout a bunch of scrubs to play SG.

It's the same story as Miles and Rondale, though. I'm just not convinced that Hudson is going to be able to get those kinds of looks in the ACC. We'll see, but if this news is true then holy shit we are going to suck and suck for longer than I thought we would.

You can win without a bunch of 5 stars but this is ridiculous, we have to be near the bottom in star ratings of teams in a major conference.

Lol, eff this. I view WF sports as nothing but solid comedy these days. And until we really ramp up recruiting, that won't change.

Clawson is doing work. Manning is scraping the bottom of the barrel instead of being patient because there is little he can do to add legit talent.

Deman seems to think that he will be the best player on the team if he commits and a potential pro if he works hard and focuses blah blah blah. I'm hugely skeptical.

True, but they are both 6'2" and at least this guy is 6'5". A 6'5" wing should be able to get a shot off in the ACC.

Trying to find a silver lining, Im not super psyched about this either. Was this guy prepping?

Dude says that shit about every single recruit we sign. Including name Bzdackted.

Ammo was 6'5".

I would think that Hudson, Overton, and Watson are in a loser leave town match this year. Can't imagine that at least one won't be gone after next season and more likely two.

Sure. But the coach should know they're all losers and not waste time.

He's not gonna get nearly as much as air space to get his shot off in the ACC as he does in that video. It's like the kids are just daring him to shoot, even though that's his biggest strength. His ball handling skills look below average too. I'm not really agreeing with the "he'll be able to get his shot off because of his height" comment.

So our SGs next year are Ovaltine, Rondale, and Hudson (he may play some wing too I guess). Holy moly.

This. My guess is that Manning is planning on having 2-3 open schollies next year. Leonard will graduate and perhaps one or two guys might decide it's in their best interest to play elsewhere.

You realize how that looks on the recruiting trail, right? I mean these guys' lack of pedigrees won't hurt us, but running an open tryout under the heading of once good ACC program is just miserable strategy, and arguably will set back the time table on being good again a lot (especially if our recruiting continues to suck).

Multiple transfers from Manning's first class would definitely look bad.
