The Grand Budapest Hotel is Wes Anderson's masterpiece. What a phenomenal movie and an incredible cast.

Watched it yesterday on the plane. Mighta had the best two films in a row ever: In Bruges > Grand Budapest

so I've been sick, like dog sick all week. Monday played poker till 6AM, got stuck in traffic trying to drive home (which may just be the most miserable LA experience possible) then overslept and got in to work past noon.

Must have contracted a legit cold somewhere cause had a 102 fever the last few days, gone through 2 boxes of tissues per day the last 3 days, and was too busy at work to take off.

Girlfriend went down to San Diego to celebrate her own birthday this wednesday. Does it every year (4 days of comicon, which I couldn't get tickets for). We had no particular plans Friday night, but plans Saturday around noon.

Am I wrong for just wanting to relax and maybe clean up around the house a bit and continue to get better after a stressful sleepless week and drive down tomorrow morning, rather than drive down tonight for no particular reason and bring my still somewhat nasally self down there? My nose just stopped running like a faucet a few hours ago.

Plama, stay home tonight and rest. Tell the lady you didn't want to get her sick.

slim, hope your bro is ok.

cav, awesome about your lady's stipend and such!

In case anyone was curious, he made it out around 5:30pm...a lot longer than they anticipated. Ended up having do to a double discectomy and it was a lot worse than they thought.

Should be good now though.

So yea, they held him in recovery for over 4 hours because they didn't make sure his eyes were closed all the way before surgery, and when they taped them shut, accidentally taped his actual eyeball....so he went in for back surgery and came out with an eye swollen shut and 3 prescriptions for his eye.

:rulz:

Brilliance there.

i think promotions are in direct correlation to meetings the more times you get promoted the more meetings you have to attend it's crazy

#townielearnsabouttherealworld

For those bitching about meetings- do they have written agendas? A strong meeting chair?

Those two things can make a world of difference.

I'm still here! That "worst poops" convo was just hitting a little too close to home.

It's hard to believe it's been 7 years since Skip died. I miss that man.

What's her field?

I often forget that this is one thing the sciences do right. Assistantships.

Congrats to the lady friend though. Funding is half the battle.

She is going for her Master's in Public Health.

Shit happens in surgery. I got out of surgery once and when they came in later to remove the drainage tube that was hooked up to my hip they broke it off inside my hip and I got to go back in for another procedure. Good times.

And think about it like this: as swollen eye is way better than this: http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/v...penis-was-mistakenly-amputated.wtvm.html?c=us

In Bruges is awesome, one of my favorite movies

During the Brazil trip, we had the same charter/airplane for four flights. They played The Big Year with Steve Martin, Owen Wilson and Jack Black on our first two flights and it was terrible. It became a running joke and we ended up requesting the bird movie, chanting for it for the next two and cheering when the Portuguese smokeshow flight attendants put it back on.

God, the CT has been so BORING lately. Really need ITK and Plama to bone each other to spice things up around here.
