Opera House for sale

Can you still rip cigs in there?

Because I feel like that's going to be a detriment to finding a buyer

Favorite bar in W-S. Hope it remains strong.

Seems like a cheap asking price

Agreed. Unless the place it just barely getting by, that seems like a solid opportunity for someone. Especially since the owner is willing to finance.

I wonder how long the "long term lease" is and what the terms would be to buy the property outright.

Seems like a perfect bar to run into the ground so that John Taffer would come and fix it

I know of multiple people that have banged in the bathroom and alley of that drinking oasis

The School of the Arts students and Wake Forest students are returning in late August. Make your move and learn the "Ropes" before the fall crush arrives!

I'd be shocked if more than 20 or so Wake Students still go to Opera House on a regular or even semi-regular basis. And that estimate is probably on the high side.

IMO, future success depends on some of the development in that part of town. West End Mill Works is great and helps make that area, with Hoots, Tap, Opera House, the Porch, etc. a solid destination for an evening. With development slated for the Chatham Mill a little further up Northwest Blvd, there may be potential for growth. However, if that development feeds into downtown instead, that could be an issue long-term. :noidea:

Opera House was really popular with Wake students when I was in school, but now literally none of them go there. Not surprised they are having troubles

man Thursday nights at Wake used to be the best:

Tap Room for dollar drafts > Opera House > Burke Street Pizza > Hot dog cart (if really drunk)

in the spring add in Thirsty Thursdays at the Warthogs games prior to Tap Room
