I agree $50K is absurd but I've heard what some of my friends' weddings have cost over the years, and they got pretty close.

50k is probably nt a bad guess for a bunch of Wake graduates. Not necessarily the best answer across the whole population though.

it just says "an above average SAT score"....1500 isn't the 75th percentile or anything but it is above average/the median

An average SAT score, using the 1600 scale/portion, is around 1000. So, I would not think a score that is 50% higher would be considered above average - it would be considered awesome, great, stellar, etc. I realize that, technically, it is above average - but so is 1600 and I don't think anyone would made 1600 would be characterized as having an 'above average' SAT score.

I don't think we get a majority by then.. to many social/legal hurdles to overcome.

Research I saw was based on insurance projections which I believe took into account social/legal hurdles.

Social hurdles will be the biggest. Damn 2030 wasn't a great answer.

I had no idea what to say on the car question. The fact of the matter is that we will be lucky to have the majority of cars being self-driven within the next 75 years. It is going to take a LONG time to work out all the kinks in the infrastructure as well as the technological and legal hurdles. Not to mention how to deal with all the rural areas of the world where the unpredictable and uneven roads will likely never be ready for driverless cars.
