CBM: X-Men '97 finale; My Adventures with Superman S2 May 25; The Boys S4 June 13

Thanks, Red Sox. Could have sworn I saw ads for tomorrow. Please let me know if I miss any shows in the thread title. The other premiere I have for this week is the Guardians of the Galaxy animated series on Saturday night.

Maybe.

Watched the Suicide Squad ep of Arrow last night. They really know how to tease characters. Damn.

It blows my mind that Gotham got wrong so many things Arrow already got right.

Can we get the search function up in this piece?

The place I take issue with Gotham is there's plenty in the source material to use without ever having to use characters like Nygma, Joker, Selina, etc. They've done this in countless ways in the comics with varying levels of success, but there's plenty to explore without having to beat the audience over the head reminding them "THIS IS A BATMAN SHOW IN CASE YOU FORGOT!!!1!!!!11!"

You could do entire seasons on the Court of Owls, Jeremiah Arkham, Hush, etc., while also keeping the things that worked like Cobblepot and the crime families.

Do the stories in the comics use Batman? That's the issue.

so the wife is traveling for work this week which gave me some extra time. i found myself watching the got ham premiere.

i agree with sepinwall that it was better for being more focused. still looks to be messy with too many super villains. might check back in later in the season if reviews improve but nothing happened for me to be excited about it.

Townie, this thread is for discussion of superhero themed movies, TV, video games and such. There's discussion of comics and other TV and movies from time to time. The genre has blown up quite a bit since this thread was started.

Here is a 5 minute sneak peek of The Flash Season 2.

There are some interesting Spider-Man movie rumors out there. The timeline is that Peter Parker was bitten around the time of Age of Ultron and will have been active for about a year in Civil War although he's an urban legend at this point.

Perhaps this belongs on the unpopular opinion thread: I didn't hate the Season 2 premiere of Gotham.

Didn't hate it either. Better than anything last season. I just did not find it compelling enough to go back.

Peter Parker is supposed to be 15 years old for the movie.

I'm very curious how they're going to include Spider-Man as a side character in Civil War while keeping his identity a secret.

I don't read the comics but I like Gotham. I guess there is an advantage to just watching the show vs watching the show and comparing the storyline to the comics.

For me it doesn't have anything to do with comparison to the comics. Season 1 was just meaningless storylines and bad dialogue

Yeah. And I don't think you need to compare the storyline to the comics to realize they're setting up villains way too soon before any real heroes arrive besides Gordon.

This. It actually takes away one of the better questions raised in Gotham of do Batman's villains exist because of him or in spite of him?

That was the premise of a fun episode of BTAS.
