OFFICIAL WAKE - Hoosiers game thread

This team is so much better than last year. Improve this much each year and we'll be in great shape.

I agree completely.
The bad thing is that even though we are miles better than we were last year, we are still almost certainly the worst team in the ACC

Unfortunately another Wake Forest football classic. Basically lose the game, then make a comeback so people think maybe we might still win, but then lose anyway.

Its going to be tough for us to win if we never force a turnover

Team showed great fight in the end. I really, really hope they put a red circle around this game next year so we can serve that clown of a coach they've got some crow.

lol, 7 sacks, 14 pressures, but ok bruh

That's what happens when you miss easy passes and they send 7 defenders at you every down. Not going to get into a bitch argument after that comeback. Nice fight by the Deacs, future is bright. O-line was better today when they had one-on-one matchups. Think Wolford probably wins this one if healthy, but Hinton got some great experience and made some clutch throws down the stretch. Rebuild looks like it's on track.

to say hinton had time today is reaaaaaally disingenuous

he created with his legs a good amount, but the OL continues to really struggle

there were two sacks today from a 3 man rush and a 4 man rush

I, for one, am so sick of seeing this gif. It's the most overused thing on this board and is a seemingly continual jinx against whatever is "happening." I now have nightmares whenever I close my eyes of Ron Paul waving his arms like an idiot with this 5th grade school photo background. Let's come together as a fanbase and find a cooler gif or just learn to not jizz our pants before something actually happens. Thanks. #endrant

OL must get better, need turnovers from defense, Hinton very up and down, but gotta love the fight to not give up on the game down 21 in the 4th.

Wolford wins this one? I think not.

I think so...I think Hinton played admirably, but he doesn't have the arm strength that we need and he doesn't have the experience to make the right reads....also, how many passes did he miss today? Sure some of that is that he didn't have a lot of time, but he just missed some wide open guys, especially early, today. He wasn't helped by the fact that the coaches didn't roll him out more.

I hate that we lost, but really like the fight in this team.
They're young and still learning. Without a few mistakes, we coulda/shoulda won today.

I think he does. We had a number of times where our WRs were wide open against their horrible secondary and Hinton missed the throw. I mean on the first possession of the game alone he bounced balls to two wide open receivers

Re-watch the first half if you really want to argue this. We routinely ran slow-developing fake handoffs in the middle and he still had time to throw in the pocket. Took multiple shots deep in the first half without getting hit. The 2nd half was a completely different story, not arguing that.

The 3 man sack he ran directly into the only guy who could have gotten him. Don't remember the 4 man sack so who knows. The announcers at one point noted that 4 of the first 5 sacks were either Hinton holding the ball too long or getting caught running behind the line, which sounded correct to me. The rest were 4th quarter when we got desperate (and fatigue had set in). I'm not arguing that our O-line gave him hours to throw all day. But they've been awful before this game (against some really bad teams) and early on he absolutely did have time to make throws. He missed on several key ones and they started blitzing on virtually every play in the 2nd half. By the end of the 3rd quarter the line had 2 false starts because of the blitzers sprinting at the line before the snap. In the 4th as soon as they started dropping into coverage Hinton was able to step into throws down the field again.

We don't get good until we have an O-Line. Was a problem under Grobe for 6 years and it will take time to get fixed, but it has to be fixed
