The Big Grams album is fucking sick. Big Boi crushes it, and Sara Barthel singing those hooks is boner inducing.

Why are the channels on SiriusXM so consistently shitty? No legitimate stations for independent artists. Alt Nation and the Highway don't impress me. Is there a good channel I am missing?

I saw www.wyattespalinmusic.com at Natahala Outdoor Center this weekend and thought he was great. Far better than anything available on Sirius for the ride back to CLT.

XMU?

I think Fogelnest is still there, or he was a couple of months ago when I last listened. I know Julia Cunningham is on a lot now

So there was a Q&A with J. Tillman during the encore.

I think the "no photography" heart is meta humor considering that he is selling shirts with the "no photography" heart graphic on them. He also sang the final verse of a song into someone's selfie camera. Goddamn that was a great show. Sad that I missed Lord Huron the night before.

So I've been a known metal hater for probably two decades now. I feel like there was sort of a golden age of that niche art in the late 80s and 90s with Metallica and Tool and such, but I feel like a lot of the post metal and spinoff genres like screamo and numetal and rap metal and whatever else has just been a bunch of no-talent nothing. This band Ghost BC though feels like they may be the next guys to bring metal back somewhere approaching the mainstream. The most important part of their appeal for me being that they don't take themselves seriously. I dont think I'll ever be a metal fan, but I can say that I like these guys, and that is something I havent been able to say in a while. Check out the NSFW vid in vimeo link.
