LOL...I actually kind of like this Thain guy now that he pulled out his dick. But he's definitely 15.
 
My question- why would Harry be nervous about disappointing our 15 person fan base?

Duke Nation far outnumbers us.

In all seriousness can we ban Thain and dukeson? They add absolutely nothing and this would never be tolerated on another board. They've broken the don't be a dbag rule.

It's kind of like when I was at wake when the guy installing cable kept talking trash about how Duke was going to throttle Wake that year (04-05). Dude, just hook up my cable and get the F out of my house.

Same thing here with the Duke grad who cleans the bathroom at my office building.
 
Duke haas the most to offer. It's why he gave a double secret probationary commitment to coach K. K did not want it made public until it is. But It's a done deal unless he backs out of it. That's the only way wake has a shot. Giles will commit to Duke in front of his family unless he doesn't. You people here are dulusional.

I don't think I can ever recall a person committing to a team secretly and the going on for 5-6 months without making it known to the world. I can understand a weekend or two, but why would he be committed to them for half a year and still go through all his recruiting?
 
Dukies still overlooking the fact that even though he "gave" a silent commitment early on last year to Duke, he was still telling the Wake players over the summer that he was coming to Wake.

11/14 can't get here fast enough. I don't give a rats ass about what Thain, Dukeson or any other Dukie says. I know what I've heard both from sources on the board and other Wake fans who are in the know but arnt on the boards. If Harry had made up his mind to go to Duke long ago he would not have Wake in the running and string along the Wake base and the Childress family. I'm not saying for sure that he is coming to Wake, but I'm also not saying he is going to Duke.

Wake is a serious contender here. I think there is a real chance he picks Wake.

Also, let me add this, do you guys really think that manning would be spending half of his time at Oak Hill with Harry if Harry was a lock to Duke? Think about it.

Let's vibe the hell out of this thread for the next 2 weeks.
 
But In all seriousness I don't think Harry is the kind kid of that would string along all these coaches if he made his made up his mind. Also I feel like the fact he cares about his hometown, is a lot more important than people other than wake forest fans realize. It would be his last chance to play in front of friends and family.
 
Alright so, I wasn't supposed to say this but I am. This board needs to here it.

My roommate is a Dukie, spent a total of 7 years there getting his undergrad and MA. He just graduated last May. This guy was probably the leader of the Crazy section and has been as big of a Duke fan that I have been a Wake fan. He has a close relative that is a Duke athletics staffer who has been there for over 15 years. With that being said, this is what he told me regarding Dukes side of the Giles recruitment.

1. Giles has not given Duke any kind of verbal/non verbal indication that he has decided on Duke. No silent verbals, no nothing.
2. ALL of the sources that are saying Harry is bound for Duke are sheer speculation.
3. These same sources that are pumping the Harry to Duke are the same exact sources that were telling everyone that Harrison Barnes was a done deal to Duke.
3b. The type of irrelevant information that these sources have is the same type of irrelevant information that they had with Barnes.
4. In the beginning, CP3 was telling Harry that Duke was where he should go and that K was the best coach. This was during the Bz era and the beginning of the Manning era. Recently, however, CP3 has became a huge advocate for Wake with Giles after getting to know Manning and reconnecting with Childress. And while he didn't recount what he said about coach K being the best coach, he made sure to let Giles know that he believed Manning could do what it takes to get Giles to the next level and he also let him know what it is like to be the hometown hero in Winston. (This is when things changed in a negative way for Duke)
4b. Losing CP3 advocation for Duke was a major blow. Many "In the know Dukies" were confident until then.
5. The Giles recruitment is by no-means a done deal to anyone at this point.

Its still up in the air. Giles hasn't made a decision. With that being said, Duke IS the best option for Harry's career and Harry knows it. However, my roommate said he honestly would not be surprised to see HG pick Wake because of the hometown connection and the relationships he has with Manning, CP3 and the Childress family. He gave it a 60% Duke, 40% Wake prediction, and I agree with it.

Take it how you want it.
 
Over / under on how many views this thread gets in the next two weeks? I can't lie, I know I'll be in for at least 3-5 per day.
 
I love how Wake fans are delusional just because we think we have a good chance at Giles.
 
I'm laughing that a Duke insider is still pissed about Harrison Barnes.

With all due respect to you, I fail to see how how this statement is any more substantive that the speculation you condemn. "Best" is subjective and begs qualification/quantification which is not given here.

But thanks for keeping the thread about recruiting per se!
 
Love the Devils Den notion that WF should be kicked out of the ACC. Top 25 national school,#1 in soccer, kicked their ass in football for a decade, etc. Shows the dimness in general of Duke fan base and again reminds that they don't know much outside of an orange ball that bounces

and Wake football still has better attendance than Duke football.

Obviously not a dook grad either. I've never understood how front running band wagoners can have so much emotional investment in a college team with which they have no real affiliation. Particularly when they've never set foot in NC. Get some pride!
