Wake Forest @ Bucknell - Game Thread

He did some nice work on the boards in the 2nd half though. Wish he was more of a scoring threat, but hopefully Hudson will be when he gets back.

Yeah, G-Mac brought down some impressive boards in the second half. I keep waiting for the light to go off and he realizes he can be a slasher on offense. Let's hope it happens sooner than later.

Eh, I guess. 5 defensive boards in the whole game against an undersized Bucknell team doesn't really qualify as much of a highlight to me.

The Collins and Moore minutes are low because of their rotations. Neither start and it doesn't seem like Manning wants them in the game together. So you have Devin and Dinos starting at the 4/5 slots and Devin has to play 30+ minutes if we're going to win games. Probably looking for 25 from Dinos. So you split 25 minutes between Collins and Doral (10 and 12 yesterday) and OBrien as a stop-gap to fill when there are teachable moments or there's foul trouble.

I don't mind bringing them along a little slower despite the good play, and I don't love the idea of playing them out of position just to give them minutes (yet).

Hate to be debbiedownerdeac but I just looked at the Hawaii field and ouch... We'll be lucky to come out with more than 1 win, especially w/o Crab and Codi.

Got to find a way to get Collins on the court. He's our second best player ( behind Devin). He looks like the best forward recruit since Johnson and Aminu and better than most others over the past 30 years.

Danny has found a real gem. He is a hand full and hopefully our secret weapon in Maui.

They'll be playing a lot more neutral court games in the post season while our guys sit and watch from their dorms. I'm not sure now is the time to talk shit about Duke's scheduling.

I'm willing to wager that we will be in some form of post season play.

I've long since had wfu22fan on ignore for the absurd Codi rants. Occasionally a quoted post like that one gets through though to remind me of why he's one of only two posters I've ever blocked.

There's 3 really good teams in the field (Kansas, Indiana, and Vandy). However, barring a major upset, we'll only have to play one (in the first round vs. Indiana). Assuming we lose this game, we will most likely play St. Johns the next day. St. Johns lost to a DII team by 30 in an exhibition and look to be pretty terrible this year. Even without Codi and Crab, I expect us to win this game. Then we would most likely the play the loser of the first round game between UCLA and UNLV (assuming they beat Chaminade). UCLA got upset in their season opener, but I think they'll be pretty good this year and they should beat UNLV. UNLV barely beat Cal Poly in their opener and are ranked outside the top 100 on KenPom. Should be a pretty close game if we are short-handed, but I still like our chances. Think there's a good shot we can get 2 wins.

Alright, I can dig it. Give me a win at home Wednesday, 2 in Maui, and I'd consider that a success.

I don't like our chances playing a third game in three days with only two recruited guards available. Hopefully Crab is back.
