Good bourbon

goddamn weller antique is good

just a few months ago i was able to pick up private barrel OWA picks at hi time wine cellars but just this weekend i had to beg someone to check the back for one bottle. times have changed.

i think i might boycott these dudes though. apparently the owner will poach pappy BTAC deliveries at other local stores and mark them way up since he knows the delivery schedule.

You're boycotting Hi Time?

i dunno, i used to love them. then i read about this pappy/btac stuff and they were super douchey when i was there this weekend. k&l on the other hand has been great.

you should check out k&l's faultline bourbon. basically a barrel sourced from scout with k&l's "faultline" private label (they do some scotch, rum, tequila, etc. under the label). awesome deal at $45/bottle and only available in cali.

I just tried to order a couple of bottles and I guess K&L has changed their policy since the last time I ordered from there (which has been a while). Now they only ship liquor to a handful of states, none of which include DC or MD. Oh whale.

Do they ship to GA? I can forward them to you.

I have not seen a bottle of OWA in at least 18 months.

I had not seen it in NC in 18 to 24 months, then I stumbled on a case in Lenior and about wet my pants! Prior to that, I purchased my last few bottles in Kentucky and Tennessee.

Found two bottles of OWA today and left them on the shelf at $59.99 each. A bottle of Stagg Jr did come home with me though, as did two six packs of Tropicalia.

ISO: Blanton's w/date 12/11/15
FT: $$ or different bottle of Blantons (one I have at home)

Thought I had one for you (well, it's actually my dad's). The tag was hanging in such a way that I couldn't see the bottom of the numbers but it looked like 12-11-15. I'll keep look whenever I see Blanton's though.

Gold Jerry, Gold!!

I found 2 bottles (27 bones a piece) in of all places the Bryson City ABC store. I have a customer up that way but never had gone through town and past the ABC store. The guy up there said they usually have a case or 2 around but these were the last 2 bottles of the 2nd case until the next delivery.

I am going to savor these during the tourney. Too bad we're not in it although they could be used for pain relief in that case.

So jealous of the Tropicalia. Always try to find some when I am in Georgia. It is such a good beer.
