General Election Thread: Two Weeks Out

Please tell me you don't really believe that? Trump?? Strong??? The man is totally dysfunctual. Tell me you like him because you just totally hate HRC. Tell me you're anti every social leap forward we have made in the last 25 years. I can (almost) accept that. But strong; the man is a fuckin psychopath.

Hill would just make a deal with Putin and he'd just cheat on her first chance he can get cause there are no reprecussions.

Another fun fact from new CNN poll, Trump is running 4th in non-white voters behind Stein and Johnson as well. Wow.

Clinton is gonna kick that ass. The only chance Trump had was some sort of complete revolt in the Dem party. Sanders stepped up to the plate and pretty much ended that.

I know it's been said 17423873 times over the past year but this is it for the Donald. This feels different.

If that polling showing Hillary with an almost double digit lead is anywhere close to accurate you might be right. Someone has to be willing to tell Trump to shut up or he's finished. Stick to the rallies and softball interviews with people like Hannity. No more off the cuff comments. No more answering questions and let someone else handle the twitter. A few of the less insane surrogates can go on the other networks for interviews.

Warren Buffet challenges @realDonaldTrump: I'll show you my tax returns if you show me yours http://cbsn.ws/2apUupR

Buffet, Bloomberg, and Cuban all actively campaigning for Clinton, all could buy and sell Donald many times over, this will drive him crazy

Warren Buffett on Trump's refusal to release his taxes "You're only afraid if you've got something to be afraid about."

He doesn't have sane surrogates and he can't control himself. He's going to get crushed unless Assange isn't bluffing.

I didn't say sane, I said "less insane". We've seen this "He's going to get crushed" before but he has shown remarkable staying power. If he can get it together for a few weeks he'll be back. He just needs to get to within 3 points going into November and I think he wins.

back to back to back we had the worst week of Clinton's campaign when Comey held a press conference said she was careless with her email server, the RNC doing nothing but bashing her for 4 days straight, and the embarrassing DNC hack and the race essentially became tied.

Trump squandered all that and maybe more in record time with seemingly multiple gafffes daily now. Seems unlikely he gets 3 straight momentum shifters like that in a row in his favor again.

There are more emails yet to be released and a lot of people want to vote against Hillary- it's just Trump's idiocy has made it almost impossible to support him. If he can act halfway normal for a few weeks you might see things begin to drift back his way. I'm not saying it's likely though. Hillary's campaign is a well oiled machine and they know to keep her away from the media for the most part. When she does speak she gives answers that she's rehearsed seemingly forever. Little chance of her making any serious gaffes. But people still hate her.

People don't like Clinton, but Trump has the unfavorable ratings of a Zika carrying mosquito. That CNN poll is probably a little wonky but the fact remains that something insane is going to have to happen for Trump to win.

Also, I think if the numbers continue in this direction prominent Republicans are going to abandon ship to either 1) help their re-election campaign or 2) position themselves for 2020. No one is happier today at the CNN poll numbers outside of the Clinton campaign than Ted Cruz.

Warren Buffett, world's third wealthiest person, says 'a monkey throwing darts' would have made more profits than Donald Trump

Like what can Trump possibly tweet to respond to this? How can he possibly try put down Buffet or his business acumen?

Trump's idiocy = Trump. That's him, that's the candidate.

That might be him, but he can hide the insanity and idiocy to a large extent if he sticks to things like well rehearsed speeches at rallies and softball interviews with people like Hannity and turning over his twitter account to someone normal.

Buffett should out Trump Trump. Offer to donate $10M to Veteran's groups if Trump releases his tax returns.

Cruz might be happy but he has no chance at becoming president after what he did. None. He is unlikely to be forgiven, especially if Hillary wins. If Hillary wins I think she'll only get 4 years.

Clinton has had good favorability ratings in the past. People have always thought Donald Trump was a conceited con artist. the Clinton campaign has been smart to go on the offensive to point out all the things that Hillary Clinton has done in the past to help various people. Smart to counteract the propaganda of the right-wing that paints her as some sort of evil witch. This is something Donald Trump can't do because he has never engaged in any sort of Public Service in his life.
