At least 25 wounded in New York City blast

I lock my doors. I also lock my car because teenagers come by and try door handles at night.

I would not support the interventionist policies of a President Clinton. I am for a complete overhaul of our immigration policies though- I feel our current immigration system is hurting native born Americans. We need an immigration system that helps Americans, not hurts them. And there is plenty of evidence that shows Americans are being harmed:

Serious question: for the subset of Americans you speak of, do you think our immigration system or our economic system is more harmful?

ITT we learn Townie thinks all white people are the same. That's not racist.

actually, what i said was "same kinds of people"

i hung out with a fairly racially diverse cast of characters but they were all med students who wanted to talk about medicine all day every day

in philly i can hang out with lots of different kinds of people because they are my neighbors and coworkers and friends

No, there isn't. There is nothing that shows that changing the immigration would definitely decrease the supposed harms

Sure there is- in terms of jobs available to native born workers, the extremely high usage of welfare among immigrants (both legal and illegal), increased crime, etc.

Similarly, Trump is proposing a complete overhaul of our immigration system, which I feel would represent a significant improvement.

For the subset of Americans I speak of? I think most Americans are being negatively impacted to some extent, not just the uneducated poors. Anyway, it's not an either/or situation. It's both things that are harming Americans. But if you think Wall Street financed/TPP supporting Clinton cares more about average Americans I think you're very naive.

The bombing suspect has been taken into custody after a shootout. No one killed.

I know she cares more than Trump. A cursory overview of their lives up to this point demonstrates as much.

That's an incredibly low bar though, and I do have concerns over how willing Hillary is to help average Americans at the expense of the 1%. There's a part of me that hopes she has built all that political capital with Wall St. for a reason, and that Bernie/Warren supporters will maintain enough of a presence to make true economic reform politically expedient for Hillary.

Trump has only ever acted in his own best interest, and that interest has always been vastly different than that of the average American. I've seen no evidence that would change if he became president, and his tax plan is a perfect example of that.

I disagree that Goldman Sachs candidate, who called the TPP the "gold standard" of trade deals and supported NAFTA, cares more about average Americans. Trump is an egomaniac, there is no doubt about that, but I sincerely believe he cares more about average Americans than Hillary.

Their personal backgrounds would say otherwise.

Thieves Helped Crack the Chelsea Bombing Case, Sources Say

The young men, who sources described as being well-dressed, opened the bag and took the bomb out, sources said, before placing the explosive into a garbage bag and walking away with the rolling suitcase.

In doing so, investigators believe they inadvertently disabled the explosive, sources said. That allowed investigators to examine the cellphone attached to the bomb intact and discover that it was connected to the family of Rahami.

Then, on Sunday night, two would-be thieves snatched a backpack resting atop a trash can near a train station in Elizabeth, N.J., according to reports.

They started rooting through the bag and found five explosives that officials say are tied to Rahami, prompting them to immediately drop the bag in the middle of the street and call police, according to reports and the New Jersey State Police.

Trump cares so much about "average Americans" that:

*He used illegal Polish construction workers to help rebuild Trump Tower
*He REFUSES to hire AMERICANS to work at Mar-A-Lago and DURING this campaign applied to get MORE foreign workers rather than AMERICANS to work there
*Wants to get rid of the minimum wage
*Has nearly all of his products made by cheaper thna cheap foreign workers rather than by American workers
*Has had such egregious employment policies in Atlantic City that he was fined six figures for discriminating against black, Hispanic and female employees
*Was cited for having his rental agents put "C" for colored on applications made by black people wanted to rent in his buildings
*He paid his employees over 20% less than similar workers made at Las Vegas properties
*He has had hundreds of lawsuits for non-payment to "average Americans" who did everything from construction to linens to painting and much more. A FL judge said his acts were so awful that he set a date for lien sale on Doral to get Trump to stop his waste of court time. Trump used nearly 1000 cabinets for his slot machines in AC but refused to pay for them.

These aren't even a beginning of Trump's long history of disdain for "average Americans".

What action has Trump ever taken that indicates he cares about average Americans?

Hillary spent her first five years out of Law School advocating for low income children and families. She tried to pass universal healthcare as First Lady. She fought for 9/11 first responders to receive the funds they needed for healthcare. The Clinton Foundation has been working to end childhood obesity in America.

All of those things provided actual benefit to average Americans. Trump's life story looks a lot different and involves story after story of him screwing over average Ameicans to make money.

You're all forgetting that Trump has time and again donated other people's money to charity.

And I agree that there is plenty of evidence that Hillary doesn't always value average Americans over her or her friends interests. And plenty of evidence that she is not fully in touch with the experiences of average Americans.

But at least there is some evidence going the other way. With Trump I can't find a shred of evidence that he cares about average Americans other than him sometimes saying so over the last 15 months.
