NC State -8

We need either a QB like Hinton, who can burn you with his legs and can throw the ball decent or a QB like Kearns, who based on what we saw gets the ball off quickly. Wolford has tons of heart and his effort should be appreciated by all of us but he is kind of a square peg in a round hole with our offense that lacks a good O-line. The O-line is better, but still not a strength.

I was pretty impressed with Finley, but I also think he was helped by our pass defense, which was not very good today

I vehemently disagree that our o-line, at least our pass blocking, was "manhandled". Wolford had a clean pocket for the duration of the game, I would bet he had less than 5 hurries. He did scamper out of 2 sure sacks, but he had enough time to throw the ball away on each of those plays. Considering we threw the ball 45 times, I think our O Line played marvelously.

The hard truth is that we have no standout talent at wide out, and Cam Serigne has apparently lost a step or forgotten how to get open.

Not sure how I feel about Wolford's turtle move. It does fit his scared animal stance in the pocket though.

To everyone today at the game, including State fans, it was obvious that Cortez and Tabari are our two best Weapons at WR. Bachman could potentially be a nice slot/possession receiver, but gives us almost nothing on the outside. Washington showed some flashes today, and I'm optimistic he could develop into a beast, given his size.

Also, Claude really doesn't need to be returning kicks. He does not "hit the hole" hard at all, not to mention the fumble.

Much like responding to the Clemson loss with a win at State tested the 2006 team.

The SU game is the critical game - we were 10 point dogs today, so I'm not too upset - but we really need to win next week

Agree with this last point. Fail to understand why that isn't coached. It's so much harder to tackle a returner when he gets up to speed.

Agree on all points. I think Cortez and Hines are our only weapons at WR. The thing about Washington is you see why he has elite program size and he ended up at Wake. He's quite raw.

I'd much rather see Hines or Bates returning kickoffs. Claude looked awkward back there.

Y'all need to quit sleeping on my man CHUCKY WADE.

I think he has potential, but did not have a good game today. Turned his head the wrong way on what I thought was a great deep ball by Wolford. Wade did not make anyone miss/gain much yardage on a couple bubble screens, one where I remember he ran right into his blocker. I think he had one bounce off his hands on a tough catch over the middle, as well.

WRs did not play well today, but the OL play was the primary issue. Pass blocking has been worse, but was still sub-par. Subtract one good hole/run from Colburn, and the run blocking was pretty awful.

What are we expecting for Cuse - Carney possibly back but not Hinton

Was at the game today and I must say that I don[t agree with some of the comments here. The game went exactly like both coaches said it would, whoever controls line of scrimmage will win. Their line dominated us on both sides of the ball. Their qb was never touched and they were able to make some nice runs. OTH Wolford had to run for his life and we had no running game. As a matter of fact, I think Wolford may have been our best player today.

I don't know what game you all were watching where Wolford didn't get plenty of time in the pocket. He was sacked and hit very few times considering his 41 passing attempts, and those few sacks came on blitzes on obvious passing downs. Not all of his scrambles came from escaping pressure, a few of them were him taking advantage of the coverage.

We don't win in Raleighwood very much and I didn't expect to win yesterday as we have a QB that cannot throw accurate passes.

Hey, we're 4-1 with a winnable home game next week. Hopefully, with our starting QB and tailback back in the lineup.
