Second Debate Thread

Trump is hard to debate. He is a know-nothing whose debate style is insults and boasts backed up by meaningless platitudes. And last night he went scorched earth. Really an insult to the dignity of the election.

Finally, this country has a politician willing to cross the threshold into meaningless platitudes. The Elders said this day would come...

I also think it's also difficult not to take all the easy shots Trump gave Hillary last night. She wanted to stay above the fray and not put him away.

I know that you're somewhat trolling/whatever it is you do, but surely you know there is a huge difference in who/what Trump is, and nearly every single POTUS candidate up to this point in American history.

He's not afraid to tell it like it is, even if "it" is rambling, nonsensical gibberish.

Once again, it's not me that your problem is with, it's your horrid candidate who couldn't put away a 1/2 term Senator with no experience 8 years ago, needed an undemocratic system of Superdelegates and a party leadership with its thumb on the scale to defeat a rambling socialist trespassing in her primary and now can't finish off a lunatic who just admitted to serial sexual assault.

I understand the butthurt, but just make sure it's directed to the right spot. Yelling at me isn't going to make her a better candidate.

Gotcha. Not sure if you understand or not then, but I'm not going to engage because that's what you want.

You don't have to run away to your safe space. Just make an argument you're not scared to defend. How on Earth did she not finish him off last night? A below average politician should have been able to #finishhim. What happened to the Allah's gift to politics I was promised?

Populism is the rage this cycle and she still won pretty easily.

I have already stated why it's hard to "finish off" Donald Trump.

He rambles incoherently, launches insult after insult, engages in almost no policy talk, and refutes objective facts like they are nothing to him.

It's extremely hard to "finish off" anybody who acts like that. It's what bullies do.

How would you have finished him? What can be said to convince his deplorables not to vote for him? There's nothing that can be said.

As to your last sentence, you are second on the boards at tilting to windmills and destroying strawmen, behind the great BKF. Clinton is a deeply, deeply, flawed candidate, and nobody on here has said she was a "gift" to anybody or anything politically speaking. She has a lot of experience for sure, but that doesn't mean she's good at this. Debates have never been a strength of hers, and nobody has really ever had to debate somebody like Donald Trump before in a presidential election.

The bar for Donald Trump is so unbelievably low, and for that reason, he isn't even being judged like any other candidate. If Clinton and Trump were both being objectively judged by somebody who had never seen/heard either speak before, then they would without a doubt say that Clinton dominated last night.

I would love to hear what your version of her "finishing him off" looks like.

72.3% illegitimacy rate in the black community. What a disaster. And yet neither candidate has talked about it and it's never discussed in the media unless the rare conservative black brings it up. The pc crowd shutting down discussion of a critically important issue facing our nation by irresponsibly painting all who bring it up as racists? Something must be done to reverse this trend. It's out of control.

Everything I'm hearing is Trump won, and it isn't close. You sound like those delusional Trump supporters who seriously thought he won the first one. Face it, your beloved Clinton lost to Donald J Trump in a debate. She looked rattled. Poor thing.
