Chat Thread 202: Stolen good?

From what I do know about you, I don't think you'd get along with a vegan.

I mean, am I wrong in thinking it'd be damn near impossible to date a Vegan? Or am I being too superficial or whatever it is that has me being 35 and single?

No. It would be impossible. My wife did vegetarian -- ok, really pescatarian -- for 7-8 months (for environmental reasons) and it was pretty difficult, and that's after knowing her for 4+ years. I can't ever imagine it working with someone I'd just started dating unless they were super super super laid back and willing to eat apps everywhere while you ate meat and/or didn't care when you shared meals (that you made) and you only wanted to cook meat.

No more Bourbon Steak for you

That's the whole point, she lives a mile away from there

That thing when you're drinking wine but have chapped lips. Fuck you, winter. And it's not even winter yet.

actually, peas one at a time is more of a red flag.

she wanted to do like tea or coffee for a first date and I'm all like nah, I'm not gonna be the guy you're worried about being such a bad first date you need a 20 minute out for. Of course once I learned she lived right near bourbon I wanted to go there, I haven't been in a few years. Coffee dates seem way too hipster/beta.

My wife is vegetarian

I enjoy cooking but only when it's something worth cooking... so not really into vegetarian dishes. Also the 2-3 day stretches where I went vegetarian at the same time (just because she would cook and we wouldn't eat out) I would feel really fatigued and get headaches and stuff. Was very happy when she gradually started eating meat again. I could finally make my pancetta+shiitake mushroom pasta, or pork tenderloin, or BACON on the weekends and not just be cooking for myself.

It wasn't a real breaking point, but definitely cost us a lot more $$ (more likely to eat out) and I also just disputed the reason for doing it (besides beef, a lot of other meat doesn't have to unsustainable if you buy from the right places).

We took turns! Whoever was first on the list sprinted down to front row and took seats in section over from df07 and wf04.

We did use the tent your mom bought us for all the football games but mostly slept in our cars for basketball

Also hate to say but you missed weekend games because of GASHOUSE visits

Maybe just football though

I missed the dook blocked field goal proctoring a dumb SAT :rulz:

Yes. You are confusing football and basketball. We were't together enough as a friend group for fall football I think. I definitely didn't camp out for that (except maybe once) because of the whole long distance gf and not being there all the time and generally wanting to sit with our hall.

Basketball freshman year we thought we'd be really good because Cp3 has just left and we camped out (cars count) for every single ACC game (I know I did). I remember wakephan09 and I made a pact/dare/challenge and stuck to it.

and we used the tent that I persuaded my mom into purchasing (by telling her my other one had a leak and I felt like I was catching pneumonia) for the duke game that we camped out 5 or 6 days for in January after winter break. strickland missed the 360 dunk and we never had a chance.

DF2009 is right here. We didn't do any camping for football freshman year. And camped out for all the ACC basketball games. The famous sports illustrated photo was from a Nebraska or Wisconsin game freshman year? The tent for the duke game was from your "black lung" phone call to your mom. That duke campout was the best! Trent Strickland shaved my head, Yoda punched me in the face, boulderdeac started a giant bonfire inside Grove Stadium, Eric Williams burned those duke shorts Townie stole from yoda after he townied his own pants. What a night.

Did y'all substitute sports for women or were y'all killing it on both fronts? Cause freshman year was the window.
