Well, that scrawny, four eyed, white shadow is me. Or was me at 12. And this is my sleepaway camp group. We didn't get the cushy cabins; instead we got stuck with the tents.

The guy in the front was the counselor.

You mean the dwarf in the group? Did your counselor get fired?
 
Was this a camp run by NAMBLA? Is this your way of telling us you were molested? Such a surreal and hilarious pic. He's naked behind that football, right?

It was a normal camp

Probably still around

It had a scholarship program whereby it brought in the inner city youth.

I grew up on Long Island in Suffolk county on the southern shore

There were no blacks

So this was, to say the least, culture shock

The dude with the football as I recall banged every female counselor at the camp

It was very eye opening

Weeks later I received a letter from one of those kids that said in part, "I couldn't tell anyone else (the other black kids), but you was my best friend at camp." It was sweet. Pretty sure my mom
Saved that letter.
