ACC Tournament

Except for the NCAA Tournament.

Yeah. I am confused by the original statement. Basketball and soccer immediately come to mind. I'm sure there are others. Also, baseball can have many different win totals and games played.

Just because if I started a thread, you all would kill me.

Wes Miller, age 34.

Lifelong Deacon fan, attended more games before age 15 than anyone.
Told by Skip Prosser he couldn't walk on, he attended James Madison than transferred to UNC.
Wore #22 anyway in honor of Randolph Childress

Player, 2005 National Champions
Player, 2007 ACC Champions
Head Coach, 2012 Southern Conference Regular Season Champs
Head Coach, 2017 Southern Conference Regular Season Champs

We are complete morons for snubbing our nose at this guy. He will be at Georgia or LSU type job next year and, since we weren't interested, he'll take the UNC job in 4-5 years. We are morons. That is all.

The last coach that we hired because of cronyism didn't work out so well.

I'd put $50 on him not having the head coaching job at UNC in 4-5 years.

Well this is relevant. Why would anyone get upset about hijacking a thread.

Key ACCT seeding game on Sat. dook at Miami. After this Miami is @VT and @FSU. This is one of the dominoes that needs to fall for us to grab a bye.

On Sunday it's GT at ND. This would give GT 9 losses which again would make a bye more reachable.

Unless, BC beats VT at home and/or State beats UVA at home those are the only other games that could have an impact on our seeding.

Not accurate.

TBD, but UNCG currently sits a game back in the standings.

I know it's in vogue, but I don't really understand the need to lie to back this guy DR. So weird

What is not accurate about winning the 2012 regular season title? I recognize Regular Season isn't the tournament, but he did win it. UNCG clear favorites to lock up another one during his tenure Monday night at home against the team they already beat on the road. I agree, of course, they still have to win that game. But when they do, it is what it is, another regular season title for the second most winningest 35 and under Coach alive.

I recognize it is just the Southern Conference. But I would much rather be saying I told you so now, than win he starts piling up the bigger ones and we are permanently out of the picture.

What is not accurate is they three other teams had a better record with a 4th having the same. They were split into 2 divisions & had best record in the North which apparently was the much weaker division. Ask Florida fans if they are buying SEC east champion Tshirts.
2017 they have to win twice to tie for first & are projected to finish 3rd.
You can wave Pom poms for the kid, but even if he ends up being good down the road will never mean he deserved the job at age 27 with no coaching experience. Also did not deserve the job after Bzz lit the program on fire.
I am pleased with Manning's current trajectory, but if Wellman will ever be pegged with a miss 3 yrs ago, it will be Michael White.

All UNCG could do in 2012 was win their division. They did that. Fine, I'll start adding "Northern Division" to the factual statement.

Success in life isn't about who "deserves" what and when. Bob Knight "deserves" any job he wants right now. He has the most success of any Coach around without a job. Athletics isn't like the English department. It's not about who "deserves" titles based on time spent and "qualifications" and other BS that these academic types that hate Trump so much sit around and discuss. It's winning. It's business. Business success is about picking winners and losers going forward. Other than hiring Jim Grobe, Wellman has been a failure at that since taking our job over 25 years ago. Anyone who watches Wake sports on the front lines and interacts properly with humans, knows that Miller will be a winner. Why we didn't make him our own is a shock to the conscious. We may still be able to fix it. But this offseason may be our last chance.

Well we aren't going to fire Danny Manning to hire Wes Miller. So we can snuff that out now.

I recognize that's unlikely to happen. However, there have been people here who claimed recently that I didn't say that we should hire him when we hired Buzz and Manning. And they also say I never mentioned that we should build our own smaller arena. So I'm going to speak up.

We should fire Manning, hire a 30 something year old Coach and build a Stadium that actually fits us. That's the path Georgia Tech chose. I predict it will pay off for them.

I agree in the point it is beyond reason that Skip didn't take him as a walk-on. Guess Skip had a reason, but not knowing what that was, I consider it a big flaw in Skip's Wake legacy. That event changed the total trajectory of this story.

I will gladly bet you that Pastner will not end up being successful at Georgia Tech.

Man, you really want to be able to say "I told you so."

Do we still need to hide our keys? Is this officially unofficially? It the shoe on the other foot yet?

It's a big flaw because we needed a PG. I think Wes could have propelled that disappointing 2006 team to the NCAAT.
