Collins to test NBA, update: he has signed an agent, per Jeff Goodman

Nice to see the usual suspect has managed to fuck up yet another thread.

RJ has a lot of the Donald in him - a man who responds childishly to ever being proven wrong about something.

Not all decisions in life are about $$. Sometimes lifestyle, family, friends and such are as important or more important than $$. After all, if JC comes back he still will make all the money he and his family need.

True, but when the decision is about someone's job/career, which this is, then money is usually the driving factor.

You still won't answer. Would you give up millions of dollars and take away 6-10% of the years of your dream job?

He may choose to come back (not likely), but you are really good at spending other people's money.

Again, it just is not that simple. He very well may play in the league longer and make much more money if he stays in school another year.

It's weird that people are trying to turn this into a "right" or "wrong" decision. The great thing for JC is that he has put himself in a win/win scenario. If he stays and works hard, it is very likely he will be successful. If he goes and works hard, it is very likely he will be successful.

How many pages can we get this to before May 24th?

I personally have the stupid perspective that you can make compelling arguments for staying or leaving and that only JC can decide which is best for him based on his situation.

But I am eager to see who wins this debate!

I don't think anyone is arguing otherwise at this point except maybe RJ. I think we've fully moved into RJ vs. math territory

Except your math is totally contrived to fit your predetermined POV. It's the Jeopardy of projections. You started out with an answer and formed a question to fit it. A key is that you repeatedly used him getting the league minimum for his last year in spite of the fact that many, many NBA players make significantly more than that as a last year.

But keep being snarky, snide and pseudo-superior, you like this strategy so well.

I'd love to see a list of players who were projected as 15-20 picks and after coming back for an extra year, significantly improved their stock.

I really don't think there are that many. And far more that either stayed the same or actually moved down with the extra year of game film and older age.

I'm thankful that some people on this board have this perspective. This thread is depressing. There is more to life than money.

Never happen going forward, but would be kind of cool for a projected high draft pick to give his reason for returning to school is to finish his degree.......crazy probably, but still kind of cool.

Yeah, doesn't happen often because that is a very small number of players and more often than not they just go. Though the 2016 draft had some notable older college players drastically improve their stock. Kris Dunn was projected 13th in the last 2015 mock draft, came back and was drafted 5th in 2016. Buddy Hield went from a 2nd round projection in 2015 to drafted in 6th in 2016.

Another player off the top off my head that made a similar decision was Marcus Smart, whose stock basically remained steady.

I think he stays.

Finishes his degree, first team all-america, wooden finalist. Wake Elite Eight. Jersey in the rafters.

Goes in the lottery after his junior season.
