BBall Recruiting Thread 2k18 - Hoard, Mucius, Lewis, and Wright sign NLIs!

I wonder if Danny has any interest in:

Dedric, K.J. Lawson to transfer from Memphis
1:22 PM ET
Jeff Borzello
ESPN Staff Writer
Memphis forwards Dedric and K.J. Lawson are leaving the program and will transfer, the brothers announced Wednesday.

"We are born and raised in Memphis, love the city with all of our hearts; however, we must do what is best for our future, our dreams, and our family, so we plan to transfer from the university," the release from the family stated.

"While we have enjoyed our tenure here, the time has come for us to explore some new opportunities. It is for that reasons we are asking for a release from The University of Memphis Men's Basketball program."

If Sarr goes to play for French National team and JC goes to the NBA, we should go HARD after these 2 bros.

Dedric averaged 19/10 this year. Seems weird to transfer and sit out instead of going pro unless he's waiting for his bro.

oops I didn't read details and assumed he was a grad transfer. Do not want now. Want instant gratification only.

Has anyone thought about the fact that American recruiting is not something Sarr totally understands? He's just become a part of it over the past 2-4 months. Could he possibly not understand nuances like the difference between committing and signing? Or that people expect to hear a commitment?

I'm sure no one's explained it to him and he just plans to show up at whatever school he chooses in the fall with no prior notification.

I could see him not understanding the nuances of US "verbal commitments" and just thinking the next step (which legally it is), would be to send in his LOI during the official Spring Signing Period. That is, sometime between April 12 and May 17 this year. He may not understand the significance of the public "verbal commitment" that is worth the paper its written on.

Verbals are something for fans and the media. They are nowhere in the NCAA rules.

Based on his Twitter activity I believe he is aware of how the process generally goes around college basketball.

Haha. Yes. It is a certainty he understands how to sign a scholarship and what it means.

And the first date he can do that is April 12.

"Danny Manning and Wake Forest see Mucius as a potential centerpiece for their 2018 recruiting class.

“They have told me that they are looking for a wing like me,” he said. “They want me to step in and big an impact guy for that 2018 class. They have Chaundee Brown going there next year so they are looking for me to play alongside him. The coaches are looking for me to be one of the biggest wings to come out of there.”

A couple of factors will make up Mucius’ decision, which should come sometime next year.

“I’m looking for a family like atmosphere,” Mucius said. “I want to feel like I’m at home at the school and a place where I’ll be able to start or get significant minutes off the bench my freshman year.”"

Definitely seems like Manning is selling Mucius on the correct things.

Mucius crystal ball to Wake, article stating were recruiting him hard and now Mucius is following Mit Shah on twitter. MAKES YOU WONDER!!

Mit Shah is one hell of a bag man.

I like Mucius a lot. Exactly what we were missing this year. Length that can still hit an open shot. He doesn't look to have elite athleticism, but he moves well, and seems like one of those kids that is going to figure it out about halfway through his sophomore season when his body finally stops growing and he can control himself a little better. Right now he is kind of a young buck out there, gangly and all arms and legs. I see that changing very soon. I hope we are the school to help him develop.

Just look at this athletic development over the past year. Watch the way he moves in the first video, and then compare it to the second video...it is really startling. I think he was just so long early in his high school career that it slowed him down. As he has developed muscularly his natural athleticism has been allowed to catch up to his length.

Now compare his movement to this video....
