My company was recently sold, so things on the HR side are still weird.

the HR manager just got off the phone with the head of HR in Poland and apparently what happened was even though my offer letter said I had to start on or by July 1 of last year to be eligible, since I started on July 1, technically the cut-off was June 30 so I was never in the system that way. so they're cutting me a check today.
