I'm trying to have a legitimate conversation on what I believe to be a pretty big problem in America, and that is the overrepresentation of white males in positions of power (specifically Congress in this case). This comes, as always, at the expense of other people who could be in that position of power. I want to know why this continues to occur, even as diverse as America is today.

That's not complaining or bitching and moaning.

I think it is important to continue to discuss why this is the case, and why I feel it is beneficial to look to getting a better representation of people to pass laws and budgets to help all of America, not just one subset of America.

and yet Republicans are about to fail for the second time in three weeks in passing a health insurance bill that would "REPEAL AND REPLACE OBAMACARE". It should have been a slam dunk from pretty much day one with a Republican President and Republican led Congress, yet nobody even had a plan to implement other than "we have to get rid of what's currently there."

I understand your dilemma. Bill Clinton was a (somewhat) liberal Democrat who was a serial abuser of women....even subordinate women, which is even worse. That puts you in a tough situation because you are loath to hold liberal Democrats to the same standard that you would a Republican. Just more of that liberal hypocrisy I mentioned earlier. The 25 years' difference in time is a total diversion and has nothing at all to do with the issue of abusing women. And Clinton was convicted of perjury by lying under oath about his abuse of women.

Don't worry, though. I didn't expect anything else from you, so you haven't disappointed me.

Did you stop reading after the first sentence? His second line literally said that Bill Clinton is "another example of why women feel the need (to) march in the streets".

ETA: Found it interesting that Wake has a higher percentage of Hispanic/Latino students than both Black and Asian. That surprises me based on my anecdotal experience from 2008-2012.

Do you really want that conversation? I will take you at your word that you do. If so, you are in the minority.

If you guys really want a healthy exchange of ideas we have to dispense with the notion that the other side is evil.

I think we will NEVER get past the amount of pigment in each persons skin if we focus so intently on it. If we had a "Ginger Equality Society" whose main goal was to increase representation of gingers in congress, would it engender more equality or more animosity?

There are more women voters than male voters. There are probably a lot of reasons that fewer women are in congress. Less desire to be in politics or too intelligent to want to wrestle in the mud may be part of it. Either way, they have the numbers to change it and there is nothing that male voters could do to stop them if they wanted.

That idea makes too much sense. 27 would, evidently, just prefer a simple quota system where he is guaranteed to get his desired results....regardless of qualifications.
