CBM: X-Men '97; Deadpool and Wolverine trailer

Just realized stick is same guy that played Kevin's dad on leftovers what a time to be alive

Also madame Gao is a national treasure

The Alexandra-Gao dynamic is cringeworthy. They haven't fulfilled the promise of the character from Daredevil.

So do you all want to do the 2 eps a day for spoilers? That would put us at eps 1-4 this evening.

Her side boob in Luke Cage was excellent. Jessica Jones, Misty Knight, Claire Temple. Hell of a trifecta for Luke.

Only one episode in on Defenders but it thoroughly has my attention. I liked seeing where everyone is to start with.

I don’t get the Danny hate. Yes he’s the weakest link of the four but not OMG UNWATCHABLE like some of y’all are making him out to be. The Incredible Hulk is a good comparison.

Misty nigh has giant knockers

I made a post about this last night, but deleted it due to some recently implemented best practices for Internet/social media postings. I fully appreciate that I've now effectively undone that deletion with this message.

Regardless of all that, there were moments, especially around the 6th-7th episode where it was difficult to concentrate on the show's goings on, since I was transfixed in a state of "daaayyyyyum" due to Misty's 90s era comic book like anatomy..

I'm all done. From the series, I'm getting a sense that Danny's lameness, especially in his solo series, was intended. The other 3 clown on him frequently with the same jabs I had. Mostly, that he's just dumb, his plans are the worst plans.

The first two episodes were sort of sluggish, but hang in there.

I agree re: the first two episodes, but once the show takes off, it's really solid and a lot of fun.

Jones works better with Colton, Cox, and Ritter, along with Dawson, Henwick, and Glenn to keep him in line, than he ever did in the solo series. He's goofy and an idiot, but it really only works relative to everyone else around him, IMO. The show runners captured a classic comic team vibe.

One thing that I found strange was how antiseptic the violence is in this one. I don't know if I care that much, but it was a lot closer to the Iron Fist than it was to Luke Cage and Daredevil. The fight scenes were a big step up from Iron Fist, though, which more than made up for it.

Definitely watch through the end credits on the last episode.

This in no way relates to anything plot-wise, but I'm going to put it in spoiler tags just because it deals with later episodes but I swear it's harmless

There seemed to be a lot of Hell imagery, Alexandra had a Hieronymous Bosch painting (I think) and even the name the Hand's company used "Midland Circle" evoked circles of Hell. I'm probably forgetting one or two other things and very well may have missed others. So that makes me wonder if Mephisto has a role in all this. He's been in DD comics before and is a natural foil for a nice Catholic boy like Matt.

That prediction fits based on what the ending teases at for the next season of Daredevil.

I would guess that ending means we get Born Again storyline or Mephisto for Daredevil 3

Also I hope this means we get Mistys bionic arm

The new Duck Tales on Disney XD is pretty good. My boys loved it.

The new Marvel's Spider-Man animated series is solid too.

Just finished The Defenders. It was quite good overall. The strength was that it told one cohesive story. The weakness was that story continued the story from Iron Fist, so the show suffered from having to prop up a weak effort before it. It definitely reinforced how much I like the characters aside from Danny and Colleen. The interpersonal dynamics were good. It made me want to rewatch DD and JJ and the first part of Luke Cage. One "problem" the show faced is that Sigourney Weaver and Rosario Dawson are clearly superior actors to everyone else on the screen. It's one thing if it's just Dawson outacting everyone around her. Adding Weaver made it more noticeable.

I'm ready to move on from the Hand. I'm not sure how much the ending allows that to happen. They've been the main villains in 3 of the last 4 Netflix series. I'm ready to get back to Fisk, Mariah and Shades, and whatever the shady company is that gave Jessica her powers.

Have not watched defenders yet but sounds like the hand are the new time traveling speedsters.

I finished the Defenders last night and enjoyed it very much. I think JJ is my favorite of the group. Kristin Ritter does a fantastic job and having David Tennant as her first villain just made that entire series amazing. I think the Defenders was better for only having 8 episodes and wouldn't hate the rest of the series going in that direction. With 13, the series felt a bit slow in parts but at 8, I felt, crap, that's all?

My one gripe was with some of the group fight scenes. Luke Cage and Jessica both have super strength but at times when they were fighting the hand, it didn't really look like they were using super strength punches. They'd punch somebody and they'd just fall down as if anyone else hit them. I think it got better later on in the series but it was kind of noticeable at parts.

Has anyone read how Disney withdrawing from Netflix affects these series? I'm okay with the animated features leaving but since the super hero shows were being codeveloped with Netflix, I was wondering if they were somehow immune.

That last part was addressed at least for Luke.

It doesn't sound like there is any plan to ever cross them over into the movies. The DD actor even alluded to the movie studio potentially having their own actor play DD in the movies. Don't know if that's the plan yet, but I could see them using the streaming withdrawal as an excuse to do so.

I imagine the shows will stay on Netflix. The original deal was just about movies and I think TV shows that already aired, not first run stuff.

Caught up on Preacher over the weekend. I really like where that show has gone this season. The setup for Herr Starr was a lot of fun.

Yeah. It took awhile to get where they got. One thing I like about the show is they're not shy about getting the heroes and villains together.
