Are there any after last Saturday? Our DBs looked like they were playing against FSU on Saturday so maybe we've had a decent warm up? Apps RBs on Saturday looked pretty quick to me as well. On offense do we have any way to get our receivers to catch the catchables? And can our OL hold blocks for the RPO we run?

FSU is dead last in the conference in rushing (72ypg) by a large margin. That's somewhat skewed by playing only 2 games, both quality opponents. However, if we can bottle up their running game, make them one dimensional, and make the freshman QB have to throw, then I think we have a good chance.

We need to play more conservative. More slow hand offs up the middle. That should be enough to beat a winless FSU team.

We don't want to tip our hand before playing the only team on the schedule that could realistically prevent the showdown against Alabama for the national championship.

Play this one close to the vest and squeak out a 13-11 win with a couple of blocked field goals.

Clemson will get the "Shock and Awe" treatment they deserve in Death Valley.

BTW did anyone watch the FSU/NC State game? Were you annoyed as I was that the announcers were falling all over themselves to make the 3 weeks of practice before the NCState game a liability? You lose your star QB in the first game. You have to get your freshman QB ready and get 3 weeks to do that. That's supposed to be bad?

I'm sure they never mentioned the advantage of having a healthy and rested football team as the flip side of that did they?

Never. Just the opposite. Said that not playing, just practicing, didn't build up the stamina for a full game. Unbelievable.

It's really not unbelievable. A good FSU drives ratings, so they are going to be biased. I'm sure they will be openly pulling for FSU on ABC this weekend, hoping there can still be some drama for the Atlantic.

Very important to come out and "hit them in the mouth" early and get a lead. Confidence/momentum is going to be huge in this game. Right now, it's almost all in our favor, but giving up a couple quick scores and having more 3 and outs of our own would change that quickly.

This. F$U is reeling right now and if we come out and punch them in the mouth they may collapse.

I hope Wake comes out in a lot of empty backfield sets. Hopefully, that would force their super bowl mvp, presidential nominee for 2020, Exxon/Mobil CEO, Dos XX spokesman, ghost of Sean Taylor all world safety to cover one on one. If it moves him to one side of the field it's still better than him roaming the middle.

Get good hits and pressure on their young QB
Make them earn their points - can't give up big plays or provide turnovers on our side of the field
Score TDs when in the red-zone - can't settle for multiple FGs
No special team gaffes
Make the big plays when they present themselves (can't drop passes, miss open receivers, miss on INTs, etc)

They missed at least a full week of practice around Irma.

State did everything in their power to choke that game away.

Fumbled snap turned into a safety (to avoid the defense TD)
Blocked punt

And FSU was as useless as frontmeat on a bull. They look rudderless.

If the game is close, think WF will find a way to win. Obviously, FSU has the horses to make life tough for WF, but after two games and two losses, pretty much every FSU 2017 goal is unachievable. FSU doesn't have confidence to close out teams right now, and can see Nole's players mailing it in late thinking "how the F are we 0-2 and now down 4 in the 4th Quarter to WF".

Also, think/hope that the WF team and staff know that they got away with one last week. Would expect best effort this week. With FSU on the ropes and with a green QB, this is WF best chance for a win until November.

We'll see, but I think this team beats Louisville at home October 28. I'm sure they have had that game circled for about a year.

No doubt that WF will be jacked up for L'ville, and agree that WF could win that one.

That said, think there is a greater probability of beating FSU, given their current QB situation, than L'ville with Lamar Jackson. Would love to see WF win both.
