BBall Recruiting Thread 2k18 - Hoard, Mucius, Lewis, and Wright sign NLIs!

Hmm, interesting answer. I'm surprised you didn't actually know the dudes if you were at Wake together. (unless you went to college elsewhere and were just a fan. Which is totally cool).

We've got our eyes on you. Anything suspicious, and you're out!

Also, it was a trick question: the correct answer is Greg McClinton.

Ole Greg greatest three point shooter in NCAA history percentage wise

Greatest Wake Forest 3-point shooters of all-time:

1. Greg McClinton
2. A.W. Hamilton
3. Chris Ellis
4. Rod Griffin
5. Randolph Childress

Lol, no, you clowns. But Dream Weaver was #1 in the NCAA in dunking without the ball.

Weaver's 07-08 season was perhaps the greatest 3 point shooting display in history. He took 3 TIMES as many 3's as McClinton and didn't miss.

Free throw percentage leaders

1. Jamaal Levy
2. Jamaal Levy
3. Jamaal Levy
4. Jamaal Levy
5. Taron Downey (except @ FSU)

How many were full court shots at the buzzer?

Yeah I went to UNC-Asheville. My dad is a Wake alum from the 60s so I grew up going to all the home games 1995-2000.

While Rod Griffin had such a great touch with his fade away turn around jumpshot, how did he manage to make a list of 3 pt shooters when he graduated in 1978 and the ACC didn't even begin to experiment with the 3 pt shot until 1982-1983 season?

freshman year ROK shot 42% on 6 attempts per game

thought he was gonna have his jersey retired

That's only one of the four jokes on that list, my man.

Ok, so back to the Ayo thing. Here's my take: I've worked with teenagers a lot over the past 15 years. Much of their decision making is based on the social/relationship aspect of things. Before they go anywhere the question is, "Well who else will be there?".

We haven't put enough stock into the existing relationships he has with this upcoming class (a class that has overtly said on many occasions would seek to recruit Ayo). I'm certain there has been much texting back and forth with the likes of Hoard, etc.

We're all in agreement that Wake is the rational and logical choice for a better pathway to the NBA (and to be part of the #1 class in the country) but along with that comes the social aspect as well. Its a big part of the daily reality of a 17 year old. Its a family decision, but still.

Just my two cents.

Left to his own devices, I think Ayo would pick Wake but there are more people involved in this and therefore he will go to Illinois

Shout out to the other non-Wake alum fans, we’re a dying breed. WE MUST REPOPULATE

How is UNC-A dealing with the NCAA penalties they received from U*NC?

not sure what you're referring to. Link?

UNCA greatest claim to fame was essentially beating Syracuse (no 1 seed) in 2012 as a no. 16 seed. The refs stole the game from UNCA. Even Jay Bilas said on air it was the worst officiating he had ever witnessed.
