Good bourbon

Got into some Armagnac last night. So damn good.

Picked up an EC 12 year single barrel yesterday - store pick by one of the big shops here in Denver.

Anybody had any luck with finding any bottles of Buffalo Trace Antique Collection?

I can't even find a store that received any of it.

Depending on where you are, it may not have been released. If you're in NC, it came out on 10/4 so it's probably long gone.

I'm surprised you saw that on the shelf. It's a hot item on the darkbourbonweb and sells for multiple times retail.

It was a $120 a bottle and they had three maybe four. I have heard a couple of people talking about it. I would prefer to try before I buy.

Someone gifted me a bottle of Blade and Bow earlier this week. Anything good or bad to report?

Anyone ever sell bottles on the secondary market? How/where does one even go about doing it? I have a couple rare-ish bottles that I'd probably rather have the secondary market money instead of the whiskey.

I've purchased via secondary market (facebook groups):

Agree to price with seller, send payment via paypal or venmo, get tracking number and wait for bottle to arrive. Never any issues.

What are you looking to unload?

Yeah, I've purchased a ton on secondary and it's very easy as LCD said. The prices have gotten absurd though. Saw one SAOS pick recently go for $350. That's some straight nonsense.

A PVW15 from 2014. One of those rare situations where I was lucky to stumble across it and get it for a good price. I'm not necessarily looking to unload it, I fully expect to drink it for a special occasion or something. But if it gets to the point where secondary prices are ridiculous and would outweigh my enjoyment (arguably they are now) I wouldn't mind cashing in my pappy gift card. I mean you see folks willing to pay like $500 for this stuff, it'd feel like throwing money away to drink it.

I'm seeing some bottles sold in the last two months between $900-950.

This is a tough one; the cash is nice, and I would never pay that for a bottle myself, but if you decide to sell it you might not ever get a chance at a bottle again, unless you want to spend big $$$ so there's some opportunity cost to consider too.

Yeah, that's kind of my take on the selling. I care more about the bourbon than the scrilla I could make from selling it because the price never goes down and you may never see the whiskey again. When I finished off the last of my PHC v2 I pretty much accepted that I will never have it again because I'm not paying $2k for a bottle.

I bought one of these Kentucky owls and was thinking of selling it

I assume you know what you are doing and have read the articles about fraud in the on-line bourbon world. I certainly wouldn't buy it that way, seems way too easy to get a filler in a pappy bottle.
