KP Report on the Charlotte 49ers UNCC -- Football School

Do not understand how this team lost to Drake University.

I was thinking like 5 spots. 8-10 would be a huge move for a single game against a shitty UNCC squad... But I guess the defense will have to move up a lot (it was still at an embarrassing level).

Our 3 point defense was great tonight! I mean, sure they had tons of wide open looks, but they missed them! No wonder it’s tough to sustain 40% against for an entire season.

Fixed it for you. Wake played defense in the second half against Charlotte. Didn't happen against Drake at all.
 
From 74 to 68 in KP (with many games from tonight still outstanding). Defense up ~30 spots... 156 now and I think it was in the 180s before.

Our offensive scheme is a huge factor. Manning needs to study Davidson and UNC film. Interior picks, motion offense, ball movement etc vs our pick and roll crap.

Good call here.

People will say beating bad teams doesn't mean anything, but beating bad teams by a lot (especially on the road) is a great sign.
 
Pretty sure we had a good amount of 4 guard lineup tonight (though mainly when we were forced to with Doral and Sarr foul trouble). Melo continues to impress me - outside of his shot tonight. He’s incredibly athletic. Sarr looked good outside being weak with the ball a couple times. Chaundee needs to relax and he’ll be great. I still want to see Donovan Mitchel assert himself more on offense.

We scored 49 points in the first half. I'm near certain we were top 15 in the country last year on offense.

You would be correct. Number 7 nationally and number 35 this year. People just want something to complain about.

Yeah, it's so strange. If you've watched us play for the last 3 years and know anything about basketball, you would realize our weakness is on defense. Our offense has been very solid.
 
Surprised so many of you were cool with the Facebook. I watch everything WF related at all in any way I can. I turned this off in 45 minutes because I couldn't take it.

Edited to add I have never understood the ESPN3 hate. I've never had a problem.
 
My attitude about these streaming options is that the old adage applies: "It's better than nothing." Nothing is what we used to get.
