tired of "fans" thinking they know everything because they have a couple stories and claim to know people...i know DR personally, and have for a good 10 years now. his stance over the last year has become nothing other than annoying and stupid.

and thats surprising considering the man i used to think was intelligent
 
I don't claim to be "in the know" at all. My opinions have nothing to do with "stories" or "knowing people."

My opinions are based on attending thousands of basketball games in over 150 stadiums. They are clearly colored by my time at Duke as I saw first hand what a winning attitude and a stadium can do.

They are also obviously colored by the fact that I am not 20 anymore. No 50 year old can look me in the eyes anymore and tell me I haven't succeeded in life and don't know what I'm talking about (which happened often in the WF community 20 years ago). So, yes, I agree I'm a pompous ass now to some degree and with good reason. I was pretty sure I was right about how to win in life back then when I came from nowhere. Now I know I do.

And it's very clear I was right about Wake basketball back then. We have to fix it. We can't afford to have people not being an ass about it anymore.

I will add we didn't have top 10 classes when Skip was here. We lost. Skip finished 12th and 11th (of 12) in the league his last two years. I love Skip as much as anyone but it is delusional to call Skip Prosser's time at Wake a success. Skip's famous quote was "we will be good again" for a reason.

Finally, I give hardly any money to Wake Forest sports. Where are you getting that? I gave more money to 5 schools this year than I did Wake Forest. I agree with your point--not fair for me to be calling for people's heads and still be paying their salaries.

You are going to lose every time trying to compare Manning to GDO. Yeah, he was fortunate to sign Chill, Rodney, and Tim, but he did. We defended and rebounded under Odom. We generally gave up few easy baskets. It wasn’t always fun to watch, but his worst record in the ACC was 7-9 after his first year. Odom was slipping a bit in recruiting his last few years and it was probably time for him to take another job but he was a very good coach for WFU. Manning isn’t in his league right now. Not even close.

i wasnt talking about winning. i was debunking your theory that arena size has anything to do with getting recruits..what was CP3s class ranked? what was Aminus class ranked? pretty sure teague and johnson were sought after?

and i apologize i overlook a successful lawyer in the great city of greensboro, but in the eyes of true fans here, thats an average life. i have much loftier goals as a 26 year old, and i KNOW i wont be such a prick about them on an anonymous message boards 20 years from now.

only lonely people laugh when being called lonely...ive heard 1st hand from your own words that you think money buys EVERYTHING. im sure you still live by that...and that goes against what i believe are true values of wake forest university.
 
Who told you I am just a lawyer in Greensboro? I am proud of my work as an attorney. It is definitely the job in which I help folks the most but it is far from my only job.

I get the personal attacks and I’m ok with it though. The positions I am taking are direct attacks on our institution and those who run it when it comes to men’s basketball from a nonanonymous attacker from the inside. I get that they hurt. Mostly because they are true. I used to be you trying to work from the inside to fix this disaster. It didn’t work. Wake hoops needs someone to make those in power think a little—even if it makes me a parriah. I want to win in men’s basketball. That’s why I’m posting. I know you do too.

what do you think of Danny Manning signing a top 15 class in the country without coaching a single game at wake? hasnt been very many NEW coaches in history to accomplish that

i agree they are not by themselves. but they are the 1st step in setting a program in the right direction. it was something skip was great at. led to 2 #1 rankings in 5 years. im young so that is the most success i have seen for wake, but defintely not the ceiling i see for them. Recruits respect manning, and i take more worth in that then what a "fan" thinks. if there were a coach that could gauruntee they bring in talent with their name alone, AND can coach amazing x's and o's i agree we should keep our eyes on them. but there arent those out there, at least not those that are interested in coaching at wake...another thing Danny loves.

Can you not see why almost all the fans here agree he deserves a little more than 3 years...two of which were stuck playing with jv hs ball players?

IDK of any coaches that are born natural great coaches. i do believe that human beings learn best from first hand experience, and that manning has very little head coaching at this level. give him time with the talent he is bringing in, and i have a good feeling we can get back to what I know as wake basketball.

you dont go from top 70 to top 15 with 1 hire and three years, especially after having what we had for 4 years

trust me...i dont need advice in that category.

i have a very promising path set up with one of the fastest growing companies in the state...and my mind is set on important things...other than chasing women.

The thought of firing manning shouldnt be in the minds of anyone right now..its WAY too soon and would do nothing except set us back.. now in 2 years if we are in the same situation ill start agreeing with you, but not this early.

i went to the game saturday...we played absolutely terrible. i have never seen wake have 7 assists with 20 turnovers..our best player had his worst game as a deac, and with 5 min to go we were down 5 to a top 25 program...now i am pissed with how it ended, and quite frankly how we played the whole game, but a shitty coach would have been blown out from the start, i have seen plenty of that in my life

There are many ways to win in life. I hope you get there. Wake won’t without massive overhauls in infrastructure and at AD IMO. But what do I know right? I’m just a lonely lawyer in Greensboro 75 days a year.

I agree with you there. Most wake hoops fans here clearly disagree with me on the Joel. We own our place in this world and will continue to going forward. At the end of the day Wellman is happily taking all of our money. We suck because of our own choices. That’s on us. And it will continue to be.
