KP Report on the UNC Tarheels Saturday Noon ESPN 2

Proud of myself, at no point did I allow myself to think we might win that game.

EXACTLY!!! The coach drew up a perfect play that Wilbekin didn't execute.
 
They took Crawford out of the play. Woods with a fairly open deep 3 for the was probably not the play drawn up but also not that bad of a shot. I did not like giving Doral the ball up 2. You knew they were going to put him on the line. I think that cost us the game.

And why was Wilbekin in the game on the defensive end, if you had a TO to do a offensive/defensive sub? He guarantees a mismatch, and sure enough, he rotated over but was absolutely no resistance to Berry. It was like he wasn't even there. If someone like Brown is in that position, he at least makes that shot a lot tougher.

Having the 54% shooter on the floor after a dead ball, especially when he can't make anything but a dunk, was idiotic

I wouldn't make that mistake coaching MS ball

why are the Manning defenders willing to cut so much slack?? it's the same ol same ol in end of game situations. Sitting there with timeouts. Not having the players drive instead of run down the shot clock to nothing while up 2. Then a piss poor play call or unexecuted play call on Key's heaved up 3. Great guy, great recruiter, mediocre game coach at best.

He was setting us up for the defensive possession and getting an offensive rebound.

When up by four should have played more aggressive.

Manning will be just fine once he has the players next year. Unfortunately lost Collins and Mitaglu early.

Yeah but Manning coached us to a one possession game against UNC on the road.

Who cares if UNC is way,way overrated right now and might actually suck. I mean the first half they were terrible.

A division I coach should be able to coach 40 minutes, not just 38. This was on coaching, I don’t know how anyone can argue otherwise on those last few offensive possessions. Just complete wastes.

Kudos to Manning and the players for showing up and playing waaaaaay better than I expected. But an ACC coach should know how to plan for end of game scenarios, at least better than what I just witnessed.
 
BULLSHIT!!! With Doral on the bench, anyone on UNC could have driven the ball to the hole and gotten an easy shot. Plus, UNC had to cover and help on Doral which gives our players a better chance to score.
 
Hopefully the Deacs grew up today. I saw more effort and passion than all the other games combined. We came up short but effort like that will serve us well going forward.
 
I can’t figure out if I like Dan Dakich or not. He says things that really crack me up and he says things that make me scratch my head. Better than Vitale and Walton for sure though.
