great career John: persistence, courage, leadership, and a little skill too
Smartest move Clawson made was naming Hinton the starter in the spring. Loved hearing about it how angry John was and how hard he worked. That’s a true leader.
Another thing about Wolford's game that hasn't really been mentioned and that won't show up in the stats is that I'd say fully half of the interceptions he's been credited with were the fault of the receiver. Even in his early years.
Speaking of receivers, I am impressed with how far Washington has come just over the course of this season. He made, perhaps, the catch of the season yesterday.
That was a phenomenal catch. Made ESPN‘s Top Ten Plays this morning.

He couldn’t catch a cold last year, he was so much improved this year, is a real weapon for us.

Just watched McSorley and Penn State beat Washington in the Fiesta Bowl and a few things went through my mind:
1. Imagine if Wolford had chosen Penn State instead of Wake?
2. I'd take John in a heartbeat over McSorley, and if McSorley had the year Wolford did, he'd have been in the Heisman discussion
3. Cam Serigne played his entire HS and college careers (and youth football I believe, too) catching passes from the two QBs above. Amazing.
